i was using FF but was soon disillusioned. GH 3 part with Latewood's recipe has been working well for me. I'd suggest doing that. you can start with distilled water, GH flora series and calmag and you're good to go

About how much GH micro and GH bloom would I need for one batch? How many batches could I expect to finish if I bought a stockpile of 1.25 gal GH Micro, and 2.5 gal GH bloom?
