    Supplementing CFL with LED?

Okay, the verdict's out on the LEDwholsalers.com grow panels (here read made in China?), they suck. However, would one of those 225 LED panels be okay to supplement my current 175 watt CFL setup?

I'm looking to increase the red spectrum when flowering time comes; while staying within my current 5000 lumens per square foot, and without increasing the current 32 degrees Celsius cabinet temps.

I managed to get one of those panels for about $25.00 on Ebay. I'm fully aware of the overall thumbs down verdict for those panels as a sole source of light, but for supplementing the 4100k - 5000k light, good idea or bad idea?

Extra light never hurts, I'm pretty sure of that one. =)

But, a helpful hint would be to get a second set of lights for flowering, which should be 2700k'ish. That is where the red/orange spectrum is. Yellows, greens and blues are more in the 4000+ range.

It may be a bit too early to say for sure, but it looks like LED/CFL combos are a very good setup. They seem to get better results then either one by themselves.
One another forum one grower got some superb size buds, dripping with frost using a combo setup.
You really do need to use hi-power leds to get any kind of results. No 5mm panels.
