I water somewhat the same way. But I pour a quart, wait a minute...pour a quart...wait a minute, till I get the dribble coming out. Then I let it dry-out before watering again.

A flush is generally three times the volume of the pot. With a 3 gallon pot, 9 gallons or so, is considered a flush. With the 'little dribble', you are likely leeching the salts twords the bottom of the pot, but that won't remove the salt build-up. (the main purpose of the flush)
With ph swings associated with aging peat, a flush can help stabilize ph, and flush the salts away. Sometimes it's in the middle of the flowering cycle, sometimes it's twords the end. But I do a preventative flush 4 or 5 weeks into veg, and about two weeks after my final transplant (which happens at around week two of flower) and have had no problems.

The final flush and the withholding of nutrients does not 'clean-out' all the nutrients. But it does help (a few days before harvest) to keep the plant from sucking-up more nutrients which you'll have to cure-out of the harvested product, or smoke.

I usually stop feeding nutrients a couple weeks before harvest... just keep watering with plain water... stop watering a few days before harvest, and i end up with good tasting buds that way.
Cool...good luck. I just prefer preventative maintenance:thumbsup:
Rusty Trichome Reviewed by Rusty Trichome on . Flushing?? I'm confused on flushing, when and how. All i've ever done, is "flush" them at the end of the grow, the last 2 weeks, i just switch from nutrient water to straight water, and when i water, it really doesnt run out the bottom, it just gets the whole thing moist and maybe just a little dribble. is this adequete for a flush? and i saw another way in hightimes mag, and im not sure if they mean to flush it that way every time for two weeks? cuz that seems like a bit overkill to me, im just stayin Rating: 5
