You are wrong about the democrats. Are they as favorible toward legalization and liberalization as the Green party or Ron Paul? No. BUT...

The democrats are much more liberal on drug laws then Republicans. Do democrats want it legalized? No. But democratic led states are *much* more likely to enact "medical compassion" laws that allow growing for personal, medicinal use.

Obama is not "letting people believe" shit. He is talking as straight as straight can be. He said he is not for legalization (which is sad), however, he also has said he would STOP the Federal Government from enforcing federal drug laws in California. That is HUGE. The courts have said the Feds can enforce federal laws even though California law opposes it, and the Bush administration is making the DEA do it. McCain would do the same thing. However, the courts have not said the Feds HAVE TO enforce those laws over and above the State's laws. As Executive over the DEA, Obama probably could stop them from kicking in medical patients and dispensaries doors in California. That would be fucking GREAT. And he has said he would do it.

I saw the town hall meeting where he said it. A medical patient asked him straight up, and Obama paused, thought, and then said... "as president I would not allow the Federal government to stop medical patients from getting marijuana in California... it is a waste of resources."

McCain, when asked the same question, turned his back on the woman and asked someone for another question, as if she wasn't even worth an answer.

Obama is not perfect. He is an idiot on some issues, but right on track on others. He graduated from Harvard Law school for goodness sakes, and was editor-in-chief of their Law Review. That is the equivalent to being top of the class... of the most prestigious law school in the country! It is a HUGE honor. McCain, on the other hand, is an idiot on ALL issues. He's a fucking idiot who graduated next to last in his class, and he didn't even get into his acadamy except that his daddy was high up in the Navy.

Kool aid? Why are cannabis forums gathering places for fucking conspiracy theorists. No one is offering anyone cool aid. Both men most likely have decent intentions. I have seen no proof of anything to the contrary (though I'm sure you conspiracy theorists have seen all the proof you need).

Who said anyone was voting for Obama soley b/c of his position on cannabis? The difference between the two is one of IQ and ability to make coherent decisions all around the board. For instance, Obama knew not to buy the "weapons of mass destruction" bullshit Bush threw around. McCain was stupid enough to buy it hook, line, and sinker. Obama 1, McCain 0.

Again, look at their educational achievements (or lack thereof). One of them is a fucking dunce, the other is bright as can be. That is probably why one of them sees it as wrong to kick down medical patients doors, and the other wants to keep doing it. Obama 2, McCain 0. The list goes on and on.

As far as democrats over the last 30 years... times change. Segregation was legal with support of both parties 60 years ago. Get with the picture. Times are a'changing.
