G is for gun: Texas in a class of its own

I think it's great as long as the Teachers are trained and have psych evaluations prior to being allowed to carry, man I've known so pretty strange teachers that could use some time with a shrink.LOL!
\"God blessed America\", It\'s the Republicans that screwed it up! Obama/Biden

They could get the money for security personnel by eliminating some deadwood from the dept. of education's payroll, for starters.

I support this ruling, i'm pro-2nd ammendment and pro-CCW. In an emergency you only have seconds at most, they should roll this out at all schools, these environments need to be safe.

Really? they don't seem to mind that ALL of their tax money and the tax money of the next 3-4 generations are being spent on supposed "homeland security" from a benign country?

There is a difference, you are talking about Federal taxes. Most schools are funded with property taxes and most homeowners vote. Local politicians, especially on the school boards know this. That is why it is more important to vote in your local elections, you have more influence.
And 2/3 of federal tax money goes to entitlements, not homeland security.

what makes concealed-carry WORK, is the fact that no one knows WHO is carrying a weapon ... any nutcase can wait until the obvious 'security' person isn't around, before he does his evil deeds ... I used to deliver to Miami occasionally, where the receiver warned us NOT to arrive before sunup, too many truckers were being robbed and assaulted ... mere DAYS after Florida allowed concealed-carry, we were told to "come on down !" ... it was now safe, because even little old ladies possibly carried guns in their purses, the bad guys were running scared ... that is how the concealed-gun laws work to protect ... (I have owned guns since I was about 8 years old, my high school (Peoria,IL) had a Gun Club, we took our .22 rifles on the School Bus :wtf:, kept them in our lockers, and shot targets after school, NO, NEVER, a MISHAP) ... I am licensed to carry a gun, and did so, even before I was legal ... I have NEVER in my life, pointed a gun at any person, for any reason (I have, however, locked my gun in my car, while I whipped some clown's ass ! - that is known as 'gun control')

Just heard someone say my name, I have 2 thoughts.
    1. Good for that community!
    2. I can't imagine how it would affect a teacher to have to kill one of their students. What a horrible situation. Unfortunately that is the way things are, and no matter how justifiable homocide is in a situation like that, I know that any teacher that would have to do that would likely never ever be the same, I pray that no teachers have to kill any of their students, but kudos for that town for allowing the staff to have the oppurtunity to do so if need be. Hopefully the fact that they are packing heat will be deterrant enough, but kids these days.....sheesh.:gunfighter2:
Hopefully the teachers DO keep these concealed, hate to see "suicide by teacher" becoming the new Columbine fad.
Norkali you are absolutely right, we all in fact live, thrive, and stomp all over in the "gray area".

WOW if you guys feel the need to arm teachers then its time to evaluate your society.Having teachers packing heat is wrong on soo many levels its just a shame that you dont see it that way.

    Only in Texas!!!!!

I/R you took the words out of my mouth! It needs to be concealed so no one knows who has them! That would work, best I think. Less likely the gun will be taken by the student and used against others.

Those kids are mean. A teacher died here a couple years ago, the students put a medication in his drink. He had a heart condition, it killed him!

I guess it levels the playing field. In fact, if the students thought there was a gun on the teachers person, maybe they'd behave better!

This is a messy situation. Perhaps, all the parents need to take a class, get educated on prev. massacre's (show videos, etc.) and start educating people what to watch for in 'kids that kill.' Like Columbine.

I have no answer. I feel it has to be an individual thing. In fact, I doubt they will get all teachers to agree to carry!

There is a new weapon on the market for everyone's personal use, Tazer's! Doubt that will work on something like, wasn't it in TX in the '70's when that nut sat in a bell tower and shot a bunch of college students for hours! Even with the cops there, they couldn't do much??::wtf: :hippy:
