clear pots ?

ive just done some clones and have healthy root s now for the next stage ? they are under 2 18 watt fluros in a dome , with the vents open ,and a heat pad , i am going to take the top off the dome in a day or two , i want to transplant in some clear pots so i can see how the roots are going , but will the light on root system effect the plant , many thanx

your roots always need to be in dark cool place.....

You should put them in regular pots. If you use the right size pot, and don't over-water, soon enough you will see roots coming out the drain holes anyway!
You can start taking them off the heat pad too when you pot them, unless your room is chilly. Your air temps should be 65-85 degrees F, and they should average 70-80 and swing about 10' between night and day. Your soil temps should stay rather stable, around 70-75'F. Too cold, and nutrient uptake is slowed to a dangerously low rate. Too warm, and you create a condition for root rot.
You will also want more lighting now that your clones have roots.

thanx for the info champ , the room is chilly here , just getting to the end of winter , ill be re potting them into some black pots and clay balls , and ive been weening them out of the dome should be off tomorro ,clear pots made scence but ill stick with what i know ,ill put them under a 400 in the next few days and turn the heat pad off, now one more question how offten should i be feeding a 3 week old clone in clay balls ? many thanx

In clay balls, you should be running hydro nutes. I use Canna. That's a true hydropponic medium, and your life will be easier if you set it up as flood and drain because hand-watering clay balls is a bitch! That's 6 flood cycles per 24 hours to get the moisture about right.
If your grow room is quite cool still, leave your heating pad on. I forgot it is winter in your area :stoned:

thanx for the info , in my grom room i run clay balls and feed every 3 hours for 15 min ,i was going to feed my clones on some half strenght canna veg a and b ,that a normaly use , because its the fist time ive cloned with rockwool cubes , the small ones , can you wett them twice a day like i was plannig to do or will i get root rot , until they are big enough to go in my grow room, rock cube in a 15cm pot surrounded by clay balls thanx for the help . cheers

Just remember that you should not feed clones until they are rooted. Some cloning solutions have very low levels of nutes in them, but the plants really don't need that, and in fact it can prevent them rooting to be trying to GROW at teh same time. Also pre-soak your RW cubes to pH 6 before use, because they come from the factory with a pH too high for your plants.
