You didn't have any posts in that thread deleted. There were some posts that violated the forum rules and they were removed.

I guess I'm confused as to the distinction between 'deletion' and 'removal,' seems like an issue of semantics (at least to a noob and non-mod such as myself). With no messaging now I guess email is the other way of notification? I'm replaying the post I quoted as well as my own in my head, and having a hard time pinpointing a rule violation. Any chance you could tell me what it was so it won't happen again?

Also sometimes (in general, not referring specifcally to the thread), you will see a missing post if it quotes a post that the mods felt had to be taken down.

Ok I see now. I saw the political, argumentative turn that thread took and thought that could have been the reason for the lock, but then was like "Wait, but I didn't post anything political!" Heh.

Thank you both for your prompt and kind replies, your Mod status (err, stati?) is well deserved. Part of me feared that this thread would just get me a tall, frosty mug of "STFUCUZWESAIDSOFOOL!"
