Question for the mods about dano420's thread in the Politics forum... I see it's locked and missing a few posts, mine among them. I hope I didn't unknowingly violate some rule in posting, I don't recall bashing anyone and I did comment on the thread's topic. Not trying to challenge mods or rules h over thread locks, I guess I'm just curious over the deletions.

You didn't have any posts in that thread deleted. There were some posts that violated the forum rules and they were removed.

If you post someting wrong, we'll let you know one way or another.

Also sometimes (in general, not referring specifcally to the thread), you will see a missing post if it quotes a post that the mods felt had to be taken down.

I guess I'm confused as to the distinction between 'deletion' and 'removal,' seems like an issue of semantics (at least to a noob and non-mod such as myself). With no messaging now I guess email is the other way of notification? I'm replaying the post I quoted as well as my own in my head, and having a hard time pinpointing a rule violation. Any chance you could tell me what it was so it won't happen again?

Ok I see now. I saw the political, argumentative turn that thread took and thought that could have been the reason for the lock, but then was like "Wait, but I didn't post anything political!" Heh.

Thank you both for your prompt and kind replies, your Mod status (err, stati?) is well deserved. Part of me feared that this thread would just get me a tall, frosty mug of "STFUCUZWESAIDSOFOOL!"

Not to beat a dead horse, FBR, but I respectfully disagree. I submitted a post, refreshed the screen and saw it listed. I then edited it once for spelling, submitted it, then tried to edit it one more time, but then the page told me something to the tune of I could only edit once every 10min, the first time I've ever seen that message btw. It was to finish that final edit which brought me back to the thread in the first place.

Whatever. This isn't important enough to waste anymore of our collective time on. Just know that I'm not delusional, don't delight in fvcking with mods, and that I haven't touched our favorite herb in more than 3 weeks (which rules out the 'purple-haze posting' that's common here).


EDIT: AHA!!! Found out what the deal is, guess this means we're both right! The cause of this is dano420 posted the same topic in 2 different sub-forums!

You did indeed have a post, Blue Devil. You put your post on this other copy of the thread, which was a duplicate of the thread in politics that was pruned and locked.
