cannabis is aready class B over here in the uk the law was changed a couple of months ago. and posession does carry a maximum charge of 14 years i think, although the police were told not to impose any harsher penalties for simple possession unless its really needed.
the government have accepted that cannabis has medicinal value but they state that legalizing the drug sativex as a non licensed cannabis based medicine is as far as they will go with medical marijuana, and have no plans to ever legalize medical mj.
although there is another party running for government who have completly different views (Liberal democrats) an they want to decriminalize possesion and social supply.(although one member sumhow wants to ban seeds an paraphernalia). a bit fucked up our government is.
