SunnyD Reviewed by SunnyD on 08-20-2008. $7 dehumidifier I am growing a single plant in a cabinet and couldn't seem to get the humidity below 70%......I didn't want to spend $120+ on a dehumidifier.....So I just put a cup of silica gel (used for drying flowers) in the corner of the cabinet. Now the humidity stays between 45% and 55% at all times......Not sure if everyone already knew this but I just figured it out and thought I'd share....... Rating: 5

I just started a new job and I have a pretty much unlimited supply of the little packets of silica gel you get in new shoe boxes etc
I was wondering if this would work for my grow box and it seems like the answer is yes

wow this is perfect! thanks so much. I have a small hydroponic grow box growing 3 plants. so far my plants are doing great but the humidity is way too high (I have the same thermometer as u, lol). But yea i couldn't think of a solution and was getting worried. Then I found this post. THANK YOU. Where can u buy this gel?
