. . .Lincoln and attempt at Reagan.
I think people hate people with similar traits. Seems, if you hate something about someone else, it is a trait in yourself also.

and i can't believe im saying this, but why is it that the people who like to make our country miserable are NOT assasinated?
we've got a backasswards society.
then again, i guess a society that has assassination at ALL is kind of backwards in itself.

They were killed because their ideas and the fact that people were following them and listening to them presented a threat to the status quo and the interests of whoever it is that really runs things.
Who is that enigmatic someone?
I dont know, but i have seen read and heard enough to convince me that most world leaders are basicaly puppets.
Think about the ideas that Lennon was talking about before he was asassinated. True world unity, real kinship between all the peoples of the world. In a world like that there is no need for leaders or governments. If you are in a position of political power then those ideas would be pretty threatening.
Oh and just in case it comes up "Imagine" is not about communism. The idea behind that song trancends any form of government.

Gandhi certainly deserves to be included on any list of people who brought about major changes and were assassinated.
JFK had some good ideas but really didn't have time to accomplish much.

I can see where you are coming from, however I don't think Bob Marley was assassinated in the USA. It is rather disturbing though that people who might have made great changes seemed to be disposed of not just in USA but in many other country's as well, Benazir Bhutto springs to mind as a recent one.
