This is directed to all of those new to using marijuana. Although the substance has a reputation similar to that of alcohol, a mild and fairly safe intoxicant, it can and should be used for more "educational" purposes.
I quit using marijuana for about 4 months, following an almost daily smoking regimen. As I start smoking now I find that my thoughts are lucid and free-flowing, and it is because of this that I have gained great insight into my personality, my relationship with friends, family and the world, philosophy (both eastern and western thought), as well as a deeper understanding of literature.
My point with all of this is that marijuana is fun to use with friends or for after school or before you watch Dog Day Afternoon for the fourteenth time, but make an effort to exploit its abilities to teach you. Try smoking by yourself and contemplating things in your head. You will find that with a little work Marijuana can go from a social drug to an enlightening teacher.

Now i must also stress that with daily use, marijuana will become more akin to a cigarette, in that it will no longer be an experience, but just a habit. Marijuana should be used as long as you have control over addiction, approx. 2-3 times a week.

Bottom line: use it for legitimate purposes, but not to the point where it becomes a habit. Be sensible and intelligent about your decisions.
