big bang noob
Hi there:
I have one 400w sodium halide, a 4x5ft space and two freshly germinated (three days fronm seed) big bang seeds, both feminised. I have the option of growing hydro, but am not sure I'm ready. My first grow was au naturel grown in a conservatory, with natural daylight and a closet/trash bag for night cycles. *just so you get an idea of my budget*
This isn't my first grow, but my first with a proper grow light. Its a 400w sodium halide with reflector. I also have two small oscillating fans blowing on medium around the plants, and 2mm mylar on the walls. The compost is a mix of 1/6th john innes seed sowing compost, 1/6th multipurpose soilless compost, 2/3 natural soil *we have a lucky stash of dark loamy soil where I live and its ph hovers around 6.5-with a few helpful additives!* I have the light hanging nearly 2ft from the seedlings *more for heat than anything else* I'm worried about burning the seedlings. I live in a naturally cold and wet climate but want to grow indoors. so far am i on the right track? I know its not the best setup by far, but what can i do to improve? my budget is £100 a month, approx. $175 dollars... any suggestions?
edit---sorry, completely forgot this was the grow log thread, pictures to follow (do plan to log this grow from seed to harvest)lazyhaze Reviewed by lazyhaze on . big bang noob Hi there: I have one 400w sodium halide, a 4x5ft space and two freshly germinated (three days fronm seed) big bang seeds, both feminised. Good Luck with your grow...lazyhaze...
...one small piece of advice...don't let the MH get too close to the seedlings...and ...I found, it helps to offset the plants some; under the light. Don't put them directly under it, and rotate daily...enjoy.

Oops. Didn't know Big Bang was a strain. Sorry, read up on it now and it seems really nice man. And a 3rd place at Cannabis Cup is not bad.
Again good luck and sorry for being noob. :P

ok, an update.
Now down to one plant, we had to move rooms due to some unexpected visitors, and we lost two. However, the sole remaining plant is flourishing. I-ll post some pictures as soon as i get a photobucket account. The new growroom is under construction.
ps-just got some trainwreck in the mail, so guess whats next!
