Sativas and Anxiety
This is an interesting thread and I'd love to hear what strains anyone with anxiety have found work for them. I actually just posted a similar topic asking for a little advice:
http://boards.cannabis.com/medicinal...-disorder.html
I do agree with the majority that Indica strains do seem to be favourable for less paranoia for some, but on the other hand a lot of people become increasingly paranoid from the drowsiness and couch-lock that Indica strains can cause. So I'm a little confused about what strain(s) would be best.

whats weird is (for me) indicas are generally to blame if i get a panic attack while smoking.
sativas (all though considered to be an up high) relax me as they put me in a positive mood that doesnt let me have my mind dwell on the bad things.
this is just experience though.
i think what does it for me is the body highs make me nervous esepcially if i smoked too much or am not in a good mood to begin with...
sativas are more of a clear high and i like it better...
so i think it matters on the TYPE of indica or sativa...because there are pure indicas that dont effect me negatively.

If you read through all these, you will notice that each person is effected in a different way. You will have to experiment and see what is best for your body.
As a better explanation, most folks with high cholesterol can take any number of the variety of drugs used to combat that and lower the cholesterol. Works great on almost everyone. Not on me. Those make me so sick I wish I were dead, I hurt like the dickens, and have a plethora of medical issues. This is because MY BODY does not like the stuff. I have no control over that.
The same will be true with how various species affect folks. One person will get paranoia, another panic attacks, some get sleepy, some get awake. Your body is your educator, listen to it and learn.

No matter what I smoke, I get an anxiety attack from hell. It has always been that way. The benefit for me is worth the adrenalyn so now I use a benzodiazapine if I want to smoke and adios the trip to hell and welcome to the smile on my face.

I hear that Gilbert but Wash is right. I tried a benzo also but it takes too much out of the Bud. For me it is more therapuetic,I smoke for a week and the anxiety or paranoia is gone. Shoot for me I'm using Cannabis to help me deal w/ 3 1/2 years of 6 then 8mgs of xanax a day.
All of the psyche crap I have taken had the total opposite effect of the listed side effects. That I believe is why there are SO many!

Wow Chance. Thats a lot. I have sativa growing right now. I first smoked it in SE Asia. I hardly remember anything about it except I laughed and laughed and life was good for a moment. I cant smoke too much of it as I do have chores and responsibilities and when nothing gets done here, everyone suffers, especially me. As far as anxiety goes, I have to ride or work when I smoke the stuff (daily). The benzo just takes the edge away for me. I wish it were legal here dammit. :-)
Best wishes. You only go around once, but if you do it right, once is enough.
