So I'm 19 and I've suffered from really bad anxiety since I was about 11. I also have trouble getting to sleep as much of my anxiety is at night, keeping me awake. I also think I might have ptsd in light of recent events. The therapist said no, but my nightmares tell me otherwise. I have trouble managing all my stress sometimes. I've tried meds and even a holistic approach. Now I don't live in a state with medical marijuana and I don't know much about it. although I have been smoking 'without government consent' since I was about 12. I just wondered if anyone had information regarding michigan. I read a post about it being a possiblity sometime soon........

If marijuana was legalized here. does someone with experience know if i would qualify for it from my description of issues? It would be great if I could get it without fear of being arrested.

If you feel cannabis helps, then it helps! In California, you would qualify, no problem. A copy of your medical records/ note from your therapist briefly stating you were being treated for anxiety, insomnia, etc, the cash, and you'd be set! No telling how loose or strict a state will be until something gets passed! The language of a law often depends on the feedback that activists provide. Good luck and get "active"!

Turn your therapist on to my post (link below), there are a few studies on the psychological effects of cannabis in it, and other stuff he may find educational. If you have the paper and ink, a print up is pretty impressive.

I have had/have PTSD from a traumatic car wreck I had a little over two years ago. It changed my personality. I'm not so laid back and passive as I used to be. My "fuse" is also a lot shorter. Cannabis helped and helps, but I tend to use to the point of abuse, imo.

It's not a miracle drug. I also have used another natural "drug" which I cannot name due to this being strictly a MMJ forum. I induced visions with a cactus. I do not recommend you or anyone else doing the same, it's playing on a fine line of something helpful or something really really bad.

That was probably the major role in me taking a different view upon what happened and how I deal with it. Generally speaking, cannabis makes me slightly more apathetic, relaxed, more tolerant, and just more pleasant.

Drugs in general affect different people different ways. What works for you might not work for the next person.

Saying all this I do not like nor agree that synthetic drugs are overall good for anyone or anything.

This is going to be skating the line and I hope that someone edits this out instead of deleting my post if it is deemed a violation of the rules.

Valerian is something you might want to look for at your local herb/health food store. It will help reduce stress and relax you. There are numerous other herbs that can be helpful in your situation.

Erowid is your friend!

Oh yeah "Granny" StormCrow has loads of useful information and insight.
