Yeah, the joy of growing in a box. That's what I was thinkin' too as far as the numbers.. 3 plants will be just right for the box. 5 plants after vegging under MH for 4 weeks pretty well fill it up; and requiring way too much trimming for the remainder of the grow. Based on 300g total with my 600 watt HPS, the yield last grow was .5g per watt (9 weeks flowering would be .25g per watt/month). My canopy height was varying too much too. I'm also going with the same strain for all 3 plants this go around and will be topping as necessary for consistent height.

Also built another veg box to speed things up a bit. But I'm hoping to be outta boxes within the next year, way to restrictive.

I have been growing in hydro for over 2 years and some of you have some seriously sick pics of monster buds coming off of your plants. I need to know just exactly what is the trick to this? Is it because of bloom boosters or what??? I bought some gh KoolBloom and will be using bloom boost for the first time ever. I'm averaging about 2 to 3 ounces off of 2 plants but I'm hearing shit like ppl harvesting like 5 to 6 ounces just off of 1 plant. I really am interested in this! Rating: 5

That all sounds fantastic. Usually under a situation like a rectangle you would use two lower wattage lamps. Like 2 400s would have been fantastic.

Also, remember to prune your plants really sparse and you will save quite a bit of leaf and bud manicuring in the end.

You're looking at 0.5g per MONTH measured as 30 days, rather than your total harvest time...
So you got 135 per 2 months which is 68 per month.
You should be aiming for 200g per month, but anything over 0.4g/w/m, I consider rock solid.
Keep at it; that number keeps climbing with every harvest!

I don't get it Stinky. He did the math correctly as per your equation and came out with a 186 grams target and hit 135g. But then you divided his number in 2 again? Where you thinking he was using more light? Or is there something missing in the equation?

In line 3 of his post, he uses both '0.5' and '60 days'.
0.5 is the multiplier for 'per 30 days'.
Given twice the time, your multiplier becomes '1.0'.

If you run flowering 1.5 months, that makes 300 grams.
Those are your target numbers with that light.

I hear everyone use the term "SOG" which I know means sea of green.... but what does this whole deal mean? What does it refer to?

A traditional sea of green is when the number of plants creates a dense "sea of green." Generally it's done with a lot of little plants. You can pack as many as a 100 into a 4 x 4 area. When people do that many it is usually a very short veg time, like a week.

I have heard this SOG kind of confused lately.

A SOG is a continual Harvest each month or 2 weeks. Say as you harvest half the flower room you will have clones already vegged and ready to take the place of harvested ones. It's awsome. When they got me I had 5 months all lined up. Cloning ones, vegging ones. Within 6 months I would of had pounds. All different strains of delight.

Not to be confused with SCOG. Which is screen of green, where you have just a few or a bunch that are trained to grow through a screen to make the canopy all the same height. Mass harvest.
