We embrace overblown, pointless scapegoats of "news" stories such as the Madelein McCann and Diana fiascos with open arms, even if they last years and years. Our tabloids will bare the headline "MORE PEODOPHILES PER SQUARE KILOMETRE THAN EVER" while a 17 year old girl poses nude on the 3rd page. We lap up whatever we're told to lap up. Got a problem at your job? "Must be immigration, surely. Of course it is. you KNOW it is." A high priest blames the countries failing economy on lack of Christian beliefs in the population. This makes front page news on the Daily Mail. A friend of mine overdoses on ketamine while more and more upper-middle class kids take cocaine yet cannabis is the only drug that ever makes the news; Total overdoses? Still 0 my friends.
Gordon Brown's photos appear everywhere as the new PM for when Blair leaves. The guy looks like a total c***, no one seems to notice. Brown makes PM, turns out to be a bigger c*** than Blair. Everyone is surprised. Everyone reads news stories in the papers about how Brown bribed MPs to vote for new terror bills that detain civilians for days and days on end with no valid reasoning required. No one bats an eyelid. Brown displays the same wooden cowardice in the company of George Bush as Blair, shaking his hand and talking about how 'close' our relationship is. People bitch more about the US.

The number one word that other countries use to describe civilians of the US is 'ignorant'. "They don't know whats going on in their own government", "they don't know whats happening in the rest of the world."

Well we do. Whats our excuse?
