Maximum Yields
Hello all,
I am new here but I have been reading on and off for a couple years. I have not been able to find much info on growing plants that can yield 8oz+. Most growers in stealth cabs have limited space. I have heard talk and LEO reports of plants 6ft tall yielding 1lbs or more. But I have never seen or heard any reliable info backing up those claims.
When looking at the ads for seeds from different companies, they often have a yield they give for each strain. For example, this white widow seed says 350grams per plant.
Sativa/ Indica: 40%/ 60%
Flowering Period: 8 weeks
Height: 0,8m
Yields: 350gr
They are not saying how long they have been vegging the plants for. That is what I want to know.
BTW, 350 grams = 12 oz. That is a great yield. But is it all talk??
I would like to know if anyone has experienced anything like this in real life. Is it possible to get 8oz+ from a single plant. If so how long must the vegg stage be? And are they using any of these advanced techniques like " LST Low Stress Training" or topping?

That's per square metre.
12 oz in a square metre is very nice, high five.
It all depends on your technique, and how much light you are throwing at it.
I aim in a SOG to get about 1/2-3/4 ounce per plant flowered at ~5" as a rooted clone.
If all you care about is weight, run a commercial strain like Big Bud, M39, Mighty Mite, Northern Lights, or Papaya.
Xcrispi gets over a pound a plant indoors. But he is vegging a very very long time, which takes a high level of skills to not kill the plant.
Do not count the chickens before the eggs are even laid.

I have 1 Question...
Do you have the equipment Ready to GO?
Iscandar You need to start a THREAD but since we are jacking SnS's Thread already... You will not find info on people getting 1lb off a single plant under a LED because it did not happen yet to my knowledge... Anyway I never heard of people getting 1Lb off a single plant unless it is Outdoors... Indoors in W/F's mostly home made jobs I've heard of people getting 14-15 Oz Max... What you are asking for is basically impossible IMO w/ LED or HPS... You need to really rethink what goals you have... What are you looking for 1.)energy savings 2.) Yield 3.) limited Amounts of Plants ect...
If you do not have the equipment we are discussing Tall Tale Gardening...
Figure out what your Goals are and put it all in a THREAD and we will try to help you acheive what is possible and in reason...

Thank you for the reply. I have a budget of $10k for this project. I don't care about electric usuage because I can buy a generator. I do care about heat signatures though. When I saw SnSStealth have a great result with his LEDs I thought about using them. That would save me from buying a generator and building a room within a room to lower the heat sign. His yields seemed to be quite good. I would like to have results of 8oz per plant. That is my goal. In your opinion how would you recommend getting there? I think hydro is best but I can use anything really. I am results oriented.

Oh great. Just f'in great.
Another aspiring cashcropper...
Learn to grow first. The fact that you are still on about predicting per-plant yield seals it...

How long does he veg do you know? I wouldn't want to veg more then 2.5 months.
Which would be more productive, many smaller plants with a faster process or fewer larger plants that take longer to veg?

I just wanted to know from real growers the real situation. Books and DVD's don't give enough info regarding yields. I think cash croppers can contribute just as well as those that grow as a hobby. If I am willing to buy and experiment with new technology then that benefits every grower don't you think? I really would like to use the Procyon 100's. I am wondering how many I would need for this kind of project.

I wish I could jump on a site with 10K to dump into something I never tried before!! Do some growin,' learn about the plant, do some reading, and in a few years you may decide to cashcrop... I doubt it though...LOL

Trial and Error are fine but it is smarter to listen and learn from those who have already been there and done it. To benefit from their knowledge. To go out and waste money and time is foolish and expensive. No, I would rather learn from those who came before me.

If you want to use Procyon's that 10k gets eaten up pretty fast at $460 a unit.
