its damn expensive in CA. We get shafted by the state with the highest gas prices in the country. If you plan on living anywhere decent, expect to pay double whatever you're paying now in AZ. If you're going to work at a restaurant, you'll need to get a roommate and live in the ghetto...unless you're managing a decent restaurant. Unfortunately that usually equates to living with a ghetto roommate in the ghetto. You would not be able to afford a nice apartment in a nice area by yourself unless you hit the lottery and move into the rare rent controlled areas or lived in the CA boonies.....like central CA aka "the armpit"

In my area, a 1 bedroom goes for over $1300/mo. Drive 5-10 miles in one direction and a 1 bdrm can be as cheap as $750. Drive same distance in another direction and they can be $1800.

I am in az right now but due to asthma complications I need to pick a different state to live in. I am originally from colorado so things are different down here. Would you all say california would be a safe place to move to with asthma? I also plan on applying for a medical card because of anxiety and partial insomnia.
