    just starting set up

hey so im just starting a grow indoors in a cabinet in my house. so i have a CFL light right above 10 cups, i dont no much about indoors growing and i been looking up a little bit but still some parts are rough on me. im useing organic rich potting soil, and 10-12-10 plant food. i have a couple of plants sprouting. i just have one problem. there seems to be a LOT of tiny black bugs that fly around in there, and they almost like fruit flys. there very small and have very white wings. i was wondering what they are and how to get rid of them. any ideas or comments on my set up would be nice. here are some pics.

(the last picture is me trying to take a picture of one of the dead flys. i really need them gone so please help)

ok well i cant really help you on the bug problem but i can give you a few pointers on some things to fix
    1. you should never put more than one plant in a pot, cup or anything used for planting they get rootbound and start to kill eachother
    2. you will need alot more light for 10 plants than one cfl and i would turn the cfl(s) on thier side; thats where most of the light is
    3. lose the tinfoil and use mylar foil causes heat spots
    4. the plants are too young to need any plant food give em some time before you feed them
The best of luck to you and your grow man:thumbsup:

thanks man, i already turned the light on its side, after i posted i went looking for some info and couldent really find any. i placed a couple of seeds in each cup jsut to be sure they would sprout. there all Kind Bud seeds but were free so i dont feel the need to "conserve" them, ya no? and i dont plan on growing all 10, just wanted to make sure i had a couple of strong plants, ya no?

Dude, those are veg flies and you will pretty much either need to change out your soil completely or you will need to put some diatemacious earth on the upper layer of the soil to help kill the flies. They have a constant life cycle in the soil and will continue to lay eggs over and over again. I stronly recommend changing out the soil first before the D.E. treatment.... even a light layer of sand on the top of the soil helps. I exterminate for a living so trust me on this one.

Um... I have never known them to kill plants but they will be a major nuissance to the rest of the house over time. They tend to feed on the organic matter found in soils, not the plant itself.

so i think i got rid of all the fungus gnats. i went looking everywher online and fount that a little bit of ground cinnimon on the top of the soil kills all the lava, and that water with a little soap in it would attract all the gnats, and they would drownd. so i did this 2 days ago and i have yet to see anymore gnats. now i have this weird fungus that seems to be forming on the tops of the soil. iv seen this before on one of my brothers grow, so i know its not from the cinnimon, but idk what it is. any help?
