    Dirt...or Water...

Seen a bit of talk on here about it, and IMHO, I feel its just preference really...But I would like to know what you guys think. Is there a "BEST" way? Or is it just which way each grower prefers?
I choose Organic Soil because I grow for personal meds. I like to breed, and I am more concerned with medicinal "effect" than yield.
Feel free to put WHY you feel your choice is the "best", or why you prefer it.

I run a combination of styles. Dirt moms for ease of maintenance and safety in caase of power failure. Hydroton ebb n flow SOG for production. Moms may be moved to hydroton vertical NFT soon to cut down on dirt disposal over the winter. DWC would be for a med grower limited by plant count, and living in an area where dirt dipsosal is difficult.

Your style will eventually match your grow area and the amount of time and money you like to put into initial setup vs. long term maintenance.

Water, chem, drip to waste- I'm a lazy f@ck, and it's the easy way out.

    I'd rather pump than carry.

This is so true. I don't like Rockwool, but 5 years ago I went to a GI Grow roatating garden mostly to double the amount of plants per light. That forced me to use 4" delta blocks...that led to doing cuttings in Rockwool macro plugs...then my mothers went to 6"hugo blocks in rose buckets...then it was more 6"hugos for the greenhouse. Now everything is F..ing Rockwool!
    Style matches my grow area.

Dirt dispossal an issue? Dealing with them damn blocks, hundreds of them, is a pain in the ass.

Currently use: Hydro, Chems (better living thru chemistry) Drip to waste.
    (guess I'm a lazy, too)
Going to: Hydro, chems, fog to waste.

I find I have more control over everything, especially maitaining a sterile growing enviroment.
Keep it civil please, gentlemen. -StinkyAttic

I feel if you are going for quality you can not beat soil which I'm curenltly using for a medium... If you are looking to blow out gardens Hydro is the way as far as Chemicals I use both organic and Chem Fertz... I do like the soil smoke better the yield is nt even close w/o pumping w/ good chems That's just IMO...

I think for winter I would like to go NFT with a 60 site unit they say very effective... I also like the Coloseum Tech as well really cool and saves a lot of space too...
