Hi Gnomy,

I start my seeds direcly in soil in a 16 ounce cup that I have saturated with distilled water. Soak the seeds directly in a glass of distilled water for 24 hours. Sometimes they will sprout in the water. Using a pencil eraser to make a hole about 1/4" deep, drop in a seed (handle seeds with tweezers) and cover lighly with soil. Put a plastic sandwhich bag over each and leave it on for 8-10 days. That will prevent the soil from drying out. If you have a warmer put the cups on it. Or put them on your fridge.

Once they have sprouted I use plastic tubing to inflate the bag once or twice a day. This adds moisture and CO2. The same method works for clones (bury at least one node) as well.

My recent seeds went 5 for 5.
