my first grow. experienced growers please help!!!

Hello everyone. I am a new medical marijuana user although i have been smoking weed since 7th grade. Anyway this is my first grow, and im really looking for advice on what to do and any corrections if i do something wrong.

So last week i got a good bag of weed and decided to take the seeds and start growing, there were 15 or so seeds. I soaked them in room temp water for 24 hours and then put them on a wet papertowel and covered with a bowl. After checking up on them and keeping the towel moist for 2 days 8 had cracked. I took the 6 strongest looking ones and put them in one of those little planter things with 6 small seperate pots. They have been sitting in there with "Plantation seed starter professional grower's mix" for 2 days now and 1 has sprouted and i can see 2 more just peeking out. I have saran wrap over them and i lift this every 12 hours or so to mist them with my sprayer and keep the soil nice and moist. So what do I do now? do i put them under lights, and what kind? I need help from people with experience asap. please be as thorough as possible. Dont spare any details. i will check back soon, and i hope to be adding pictures soon. thanks a bunch everybody :stoned:

YES as soon as they sprout u give them light!
u can go the cheapest way using the sun( if its hot enough)
u can spend some money and buy some Compact Fluorescent Lights
spend some more and u can buy a HPS(high pressure sodium) or a metal hlide light

just go to the FAQ forum and read the guides there!

thanks xmaxxX. that helps a lot. well its real late now and i cant get lights anywhere and the suns not out so i guess they will have to go without light until tomorrow. tommorow i will put them out in the sun until i can buy lights. then i will construct a grow room hopefully. i will be back in the morning to see if anyone else has posted. i will be adding new pics every 2 days hopefully 2 keep u guys updated.

also i have an old refrigerator i dont use and i was thinking about useing this as a growroom with some lights and a squirrel cage fan with a ventilation hole and dryer hose to keep the air moveing. does this sound workable to anyone? has anyone attempted something like this b4?

But, for now get a few 26w 6500k CFL's to keep them thriving. but, keep adding more light as it seems needed. The first thread of the indoor lighting is very useful regarding to lumens per watt, how much light per sq. ft or meter.

Become an information junky. =P Read, reread, and read again. Multiple tabs on your browser will help alot when it comes to comparing lights, dirts, grow set ups.

ok, bad news i went outside after about 3-4 hours to check on my plants and the soil was hot to the touch. like burning hot. needless to say the seedlings didnt like this at all. one has wilted and all but dissapeared into a tiny brown flake. man im pissed i figured they would be ok for a few hours. it was about 85 degress today and i guess thats to hot? (can some1 confirm that?) But on the bright side 2 have started to burst through the soil and i have high hopes for them. im going to leave that little crispy one in there just to see if itll bounce back, although i highly doubt it. :'( Should i take off the saran wrap when i put them in sunlight? maybe this will help keep them a little cooler in the sun. desperatly need 2 know what to do ASAP as i want to give my sprouts light but now im afraid to i hope stinky takes a gander @ this and maybe gives me a few pointers. *crosses fingers*

I've always seen saran wrap and other awesome stoner ingenuity humidity domes used for clones since they don't need much light. So, I'm guessing that they needed fresh air and clear daylight with some moist soil to go along with it.
Sorry one might have been cooked. =( But it's a learning experience and you'll be gifted with some good luck I'm sure. :baggy:

well i really hope this grow is a learning experence. i have learned a few things already and i hope i continue to learn and grow in experience, thanks so much for the positivity befree, i really needed it. on another note-i went to lowes today, and i almost purchased a 400 watt high pressure sodium clear light but i didnt cause they didnt have a lamp that was powerfull enough. they only go up to 100 watts now cause some energy conservation BS. so will a 100 or even 75 watt do? i looked at that lighting thread and i guess wattage doesnt matter but its pretty much all gibberish to me. also will clear work or should i spend the extra $ and get it with a blue spectrum? heres a pic of the 2 comeing through-

Well seem you have had a few lessons learned already but valuable learning.

First you went about this backwards most get everthing in place before germinating the seeds and you have found out why.

To start the seran wrap works great for artificial light but not for the real sun, it is to strong. What happened is the same thing that happens inside your car when it is hot outside and the sun is shinning directly on your parked car. It gets hot as hell inside your car, well it got hot as hell inside the pot covered with seran wrap and fried your seedlings.

I know you wasted some good seeds from bag weed but at least they were not from a seed bank and you paid anywhere from $50.00 to $250.00 for 10 seeds.

It sounds like you want to take growing seriously. So you are going to need a plan and get all the materials needed before you start.

First advice is as everyone else said READ, READ, READ. Then figure out what medium you are going to use to grow in SOIL, or Hydoponic. Then decide what lighting you are going to use compact florecents or HID. It is too late to start a grow outside in the northern hemispher so plan on indoors.
Next where are you going to put your grow room. This is going to have to be in a secure area, and have somewhere nearby that you can ventelate the heat from the lighting to. Then I highly recommend getting some seeds from a seed bank. There are several reasons I say this. First bag seed usually comes from comercial growers and is grown outside in a feild and is not top shelf quality herb. Second it is bred to grow outside and does not do as well indoors. ( Note: I have seen some awsome grow logs from bag seed so don't let me discourage you, it is just more difficult to grow inside). Also depending on your medical needs there are strains that work better than others for your conditition. Somewhere in this web site is a list of all the strains and what ailments they work best for. So look at this list and find the strain that best suits your needs. Then order it from a seed bank that carries it.

Well this is enough for now. So read up on the things you will need, get those items, get a plan in place, order some seeds and you should be good to grow. Also ask as many questions as you can in these forums and you should end up with some killer buds in 3 to 4 months.
