What are the odds of this? I feel blessed by the ganja gods!

I planted 30 seeds at the end of june ( bag seed from the various batches last year). I just went for a hike to check things out,cull the males and deliver some food. 20 plants made it of the original 30 seeds. Of those 20 only 3 were males. I am the proud poppa of 17 females of various strains from dirty brown mexican weed, a single Northern Lights seed ( I have her labled) to the random beaster seed.

What are the odds of having so many females from such a variety of unknown genetics?

Very high; mexibrick bagseed- I suspect you're going to have pollination by feral local cannabis that isn't tended, and therefore will get males in there, but indoor/Beaster bags you're going to see approaching 100% females. Read up on feminizing seeds, and the gender expression in hermaphrodite-pollinated plants, and you will see why. Commercial indoor growers do NOT keep males in the building; any seeds you find in The Beast are going to be from a hermi pollination.

all I can say is COOL!

I love the ladies! I thought maybe it was all the positive female vibes I been sending them :P I guess there is science at work and not voodoo :P

Cool info too Stinky. That's pretty interesting. I had 7 plants vegging from some Beasters and 2-3 (?) from a bagseed selection that smelled surprisingly skunky. Out of those, 4 showed pre-flowers in veg under 24/7 and 3 did not. The 3 with no sign of sex were always droopy and troublesome. Due to space restrictions, I removed the 3 weak plants. I'm going to be bold here and guess that at least 3 of the females in good health are probably the potentially hermied Beasters. Also, the Beaster seeds were small and appeared under developed. Upon further examination they had the same markings and coloration as a large mature seed... and eventually (and obviously :jointsmile germinated fine.

I say at least 3 of the females, because while all 4 showed preflowers during veg... 3 of them had multiple sites and the other only had 1-2 sites. Since the last one that showed limited pre-flowers and continues to have a noticeably different growth rate AND similar uncontrollable drooping... I'm guessing that it could be a lucky female from the unknown bagseed and not the Beasters.

Well I had to pull two more plants

They were hermaphrodites. Tons of male flowers grew! I hope I got them in time.
