Latest Tracking Polls Released August 2, 2008:
* Gallup Tracking: Obama 44, McCain 44.
* Rasmussen Tracking: Obama 47, McCain 46.
Could it be that Obama's polling numbers have actually gone down because of his overseas trip? The Gallup and Rasmussen tracking polls show a dead heat between McCain and Obama despite the fact that they were showing Obama ahead in the 5-8% range not too long ago.
The Reverend Wright controversy, his wife's "proud of America" comment, and his wearing Somali garb, proved one major important thing: Obama has the unfortunate requirement of proving his allegiance to America. By taking this trip to Europe and the Middle East, more uncertainty brews among the American electorate. Obama, now, has to seriously change the dialogue from international and global issues to issues that are America... like our economy.
The two state polls we are releasing here just so happen to have McCain ahead despite the fact they are states that McCain should be winning anyways.
The upcoming week of polls should show gains for McCain.
John McCain's Polling Numbers Pull Even Because of Obama's Trip?
Obama has been too pompous and arrogant with his campaign and some of the things he says. Here we can see that reflected in the polls. If this were poker then Obama would've been the guy who pushes all in EVERY hand and gets lucky. His false sense of superiority is really hurting him and McCain called Obama's "All in" with his small stack and won the pot this round.
I don't support Obama but this should've been a slam dunk for him. I'm almost thankful as it's restored some faith that some people are not blinded by lengthy speeches or the way the Obama campaign likes to put spin on a situation.daihashi Reviewed by daihashi on . Obama and McCain... Neck and Neck
Obama's numbers in the polls were actually up right after the trip--by about 7 points.
The evening out of the numbers in the last few days has nothing to do with, as you say, Obama's alleged arrogance or pomposity. The pollsters and political analysts all attribute the evening out of the poll numbers and McCain's few-point advance to the fact that McCain has gone very aggressively on the attack in the last five to seven days, including rolling out his new ad campaign.\"That best portion of a good man\'s life: his little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and love.\"

And let's be honest here. Calling Obama "the biggest celebrity in the world" is not exactly an insult. McCains ad was very weak as I've stated in other threads.
Although I do support McCain (really I support Ron Paul above all) I have to admit that as far as campaigning and advertising that they are really scraping the bottom of the barrel.
This ad wasn't very strong and only pointed out the very obvious. If all that voters needed was affirmation that Obama is a bit overconfident in his position as the Democratic Nominee then I'd have to say that his voter base wasn't very strong to begin with.

Obama and McCain... Neck and Neck
People are actually starting to look at the candidates now based on merit. Obama has done NOTHING throughout his career.....a typical Chicago politician! Why are the numbers so close?
-Ties to the good ol' uncle Rev. Wright
-Ties to William Ayers
-Wifes line about "finally being proud to be an American"
-Times get tough...pull out the race card; this makes twice now
-Flip-flop on issues like FISA and Iraq (screw the base that helped him to beat out Clinton)
-Disrespecting injured American troops in Germany for a photo op.
-How many votes did he vote "Present" as a state legislator?
-Lack of time AND "not voting" record in Senate
-Won't admit to being wrong on the surge, even though the rest of the U.S. can see the results
-Playing a the part of being a "Great President" in Germany.....Arrogance extrodinare!
-And the top reason....."Tree Huggers "R" Us" view on drilling and nuclear power
All this and now with people like Pelosi and Reid bringing the drilling issue to the front line with an Obama "not voting" stance......can ya all say President McCain?
Have a good one!:s4:

Obama and McCain... Neck and Neck
Personally I think all these "elitist" and "snob" accusations toward Obama are just another Republican gimick to turn the voters away from the candidate. It's just like the 2004 election where George Bush knew that his reputation for consistancy (seeing as he's such a stubborn sob) was his best bet, so it just so happens that his opponent "flip-flops" on everything he says, every single day. All you have to do is repeat these gimicks over and over and over, and soon everybody starts to believe it.
Now is Obama really an elitist? Hell yes! And a lot of his economic policies are just the shits (just like McSame, who think's George Bush has actually done a bang-up job with the country and it's economy! LOL). But McCain, Obama, Hillary, Romney, Guiliani etc; they're all elitists vying for possitions of power, a spot in the history books to stroke their ego, and an opportunity to impose their personal morality on the general public. The people were already fooled once into thinking George Bush was a guy's guy in 2000, and now, sadly, they're still bying the same old acts. These candidates are all elitists to the umpth degree; some of them are just better at hiding it than others.

It's pretty obvious when a candidate believes there are 57 states and is campaigning in Germany, whom you should vote for.:jointsmile:
