Good for that cop! That idiotic bicyclist almost hit him. He came from New Jersey to make a scene and ride like a banshee in New York and got what he deserved.

Last year, while walking on the sidewalk as I was approaching the street, I got hit by a big guy (about half my age) on a bicycle. My shirt got ripped to shreads, I had buises and cuts on my legs, and the bicyclist didn't even apologize. After he got up, he just took off.

I'm NOT anti-bicycle. I do not own a motor vehicle, and have a bicycle myself, but a lot of bike riders have no concept of safety for others or respect for the pedestrians.

It clearly looks like the guy tried to avoid the cop, but the cop just shoved the guy to the ground. Just because one guy that hit you was on a bike doesn't mean that everyone is like that.

The biker had plenty of time to change his route. Instead, he decided to be a daredevil and swerve around in front of the cop. If that cop had decided to run, he would have been struck. That is how I probably got hit, because I didn't see the guy coming and moved in a way that he did not anticipate. This type of bad bike riding is so common now that people just accept it.

I didn't say that "everyone" was like that - but those that are deserve to be taught a lesson.

The bicyclist clearly steered himself out of the way of the policeman, and the cop responded by running and intercepting the bike. Makes me think the cop actually wanted to collide.

For everyone defending the cop.. you need to look at the video again. The cop ran TOWARDS the bicyclist and pushed him over HARD. I don't know how often you guys ride bikes but it doesn't take much of a blow from the side to knock you over off the bike.

That guy ran at the bicyclists like he was a linebacker for the packers or something.

However I was not at this event and can only comment on the video. There may have been a legitimate reason for his actions.

OMG, get over one bad thing that happened to you. you sound like a freaking victim! wha wha wha, cry me a river. i have heard some people defend the cop because of all the lame protests in NY, but i havent heard one say that the pigs actions were anything but deliberate. Sometimes it amazes me how 100 people can watch something and there is always one a** that see something that just isnt there! furthermore breukelen, please never follow your hobby to amsterdam cause you WILL get run down by a bike and i sounds like you might be able to handle it! cheers!
