Congress on 5 week vacation, NO energy plan!
Energy plans unpassed
Democratic proposals include:
-Use it or Lose It measure that would force an oil company to drill on the leases it currently has or turn them over to another company that will drill.
-Ending tax breaks for large oil companies.
-Tax incentives to companies researching of producing alternative and renewable energy sources.
-Cracking down on oil speculation through increased oversight.
Republican proposals include:
-Dropping the ban on outer continental shelf oil drilling and the moratorium against finalizing rules on oil shale leases.
-Opening up the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge for oil exploration.
-Increased research and development for plug-in vehicles and boosting staff of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, which regulates market speculation.
Congress takes five-week vacation without passing energy bill - Salt Lake Tribune
Well I hope to hell they enjoy their private jet rides back to their home towns. In the meantime, we lower folk can enjoy paying $4.00 at the pump.
Look at their plans and ask yourself which one will either have an immediate effect and/or long term effect on pricing and which one really has neither. Pretty obvious to me.......when a product is subject to a higher tax who ends up paying this tax in the end?:wtf:
Pelosi and Reid decided NOT to even bring this up to a vote.....to them I say;:S4:

to me it seems dems want to do something,
force em to drill in spots they own, give incentives for renewable, and speculation is why oiil is so high.
rep want worse for environment
instead of drilling in spots we have, go to new spots and drill, and ever hear of the show gms death of the electric car, they already had a battery developed and working that lasted about 300-500 miles and longer than the life of the car. but they stayed with the crappiest battery of all times acdelco. so in turn we already have technology for plugin cars. another reason we stay with the internal combustion engine is its an oil hog compared to electric. the ic engine uses on average 5+ quarts of oil every 3,000 miles plus oil for gas/diesel, and every other hydraulic part that uses hydraulic fluid compared to electric stuff.
and we have the manufactoring technology to mass produce any type of renewable energy (solar panels, wind, ect)

Why the fuck would they do that?? We all know that politicians aren't controlled by corporate interest..what kind of voice would they be for the people if they were doing something for us???
I wish I was in a position similar to john mccain...I'd love to get tons of free money, it sure would be nice.
"Campaign contributions from oil industry executives to Sen. John McCain rose dramatically in the last half of June, after the senator from Arizona made a high-profile split with environmentalists and reversed his opposition to the federal ban on offshore drilling.
Oil and gas industry executives and employees donated $1.1 million to McCain last month -- three-quarters of which came after his June 16 speech calling for an end to the ban -- compared with $116,000 in March, $283,000 in April and $208,000 in May."
The government could care less what gas prices are, if they did give a rat's ass, they wouldn't be what they are right now.
Also, fuck the motherfuckers. There are merely a few gas stations within the proximity of where I live that I can still get pure gasoline...Ethanol makes my car run like shit, thanks for letting them get away with it, uncle sam.

How many years can you wait, without a car, before you can afford the new democratically mandated vehicles, when gas is no longer available for normal citizens?
How many years can your family go without heat, because your home is heated using oil, and you can't afford to retro-fit for electric heating?
Does it make sense to make the oil companies spend $15.00 per gallon to remove the oil on existing sites because of depth, carbon emission laws, enviornmental concerns, inaccesability...(in sand or shale for instance) This is the main reason the new drill sites are are needed.

Yup. Dems (if that's the label you choose to use for what they do and say) need to keep the ship on track with the lies, inuendo and false hope, while investing personal wealth in the renewables field. (carbon credits and a Puklitzer Prize ring a bell?) But most of all, don't let the public know what the change will really entail.
Hopefully nobody will recognize that we, America as a whole, do not have the infrastructure, nor do Americans as individuals, have the ability to afford the costly changes to accomodate the democrats idea of energy policy change. Otherwise the democratic party is going to have some explaining to do when commerce shuts down, energy providers are unable to provide energy all day every day, home heating oil will be a thing of the past, as it's unaffordable.
One consequence the dems will love tho, with food prices multiplying significantly on a daily basis, diet pills and phony diets will be a thing of the past.

hey rusty i do believe im on nuclear power for texas. and isnt texas on its own power grid unlike any other state.
as for carbon credits, thats the biggest load of crap there is, waste away and pay someone so you feel better. what a joke.
and ill drive a 300lb car like billions of other people especially with gas at $4 a gallon. we have the infustructure and technology to have electric cars. we dont have the infustructure for hydrogen, ethenol or other forms that they are have tried.
plain and simply the electric car is our best bet. can plug em in anywhere you go. unlike other forms of hybrids

Yeah...we all know that this shit will happen overnight and that each and every American can afford to turn their financial lives upside down. Or is that what the Obama tax hikes are intended to bring us, since we'll be a nanny/reparationist nation, and all?
Are the truckers going to be getting free gas? How will you afford to pay for New Englands heating oil evey year, as it will be too expensive without subsidies...? You think this wouldn't do more damage than good? :wtf:

your right its not overnight. weve had the technology and know how for a long time now. not since yesterday. so why hasnt it been developed?
if we used the oil for heating and cooking instead of driving prices would go down. isnt that how supply and demand work. you have extreme excesses of oil your sitting on you arnt goin to sell it at 150 a barrel you will sell it at 50 a barrel.
and also we produce most of our natural gas to use for heating so why does the cost go up with oil.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi opposes lifting the moratorium on drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and on the Outer Continental Shelf. She won't even allow it to come to a vote. With $4 gas having massively shifted public opinion in favor of domestic production, she wants to protect her Democratic members from having to cast an anti-drilling election-year vote. Moreover, given the public mood, she might even lose. This cannot be permitted. Why? Because, as she explained to Politico: "I'm trying to save the planet; I'm trying to save the planet."

Do ya all like the thought of paying $10.00 at the pump? Mix in Obama with Pelosi and Reid and that's EXACTLY what you will all get! While these tree hugging, private jet riding hypocrits aren't changing their lifestyles do ya really think they give a rats ass about yours?
The dems are proving themselves to be a pack of elitists that have NO grip on real life. Maybe this is why the Great Obama can't pull away from an old white republican when it should be SO EASY considering Bush's ratings.
Have a good one!:s4:
