Yes, they can. I'm with Torog, they'll either eat them or trample them. Best plant them away from the cows...also there's a good chance the farmer (or a farm hand) might find the plants if they're anywhere near his fields. Especially during haying season when the cutting, tedding, raking, baling cycle begins. Most farmers hay twice in one season, so if the plants aren't found in June, they'll most likely be spotted in September.
