A question for all of you.

I am basically a self medicated diabetic patient in a non medical state that has had to give up my cococaps due to finding a better job to provide for my family and unfortunatley the job has randoms. Since I have quit taking the caps daily approx 2 months ago, my a1c blood sugar has risen and I generally feel achy and lethargic. I Know that it is basically unethical to lie to your doctor, as it is also unethical to steal piss tests and also to require piss tests to be taken. I am thinking of trying to get my dr to prescribe either drabonal or marinol, and I would get a bottle or 2, not telling him that I probably won't take that, just make my caps like I used to. What do you guys think. I'd love to move, but can't see that happening Unless I hit the lotto.

I gues what I meant was should I try to convince him to prescribe marinol or drabinol both of which (I believe) give off the same metabolites. I am planning to chill until the first random, they have one a year and everybody pisses. They lock the gates and you piss or get canned. If I can get the dr to prescribe either of those 2 so that I can explain the dirty drop. I don't know if this is possible, I just love weed and loathe piss tests.

First... I recommend, especially with a condition as serious as Diabetes, that you be honest with your physician. Particularly since THC is present in mentioned medications... it will not be a shock to a doctor that you found Cannabis to relieve symptoms of your ailment.

Also, you should consider the coverage of your health insurance. If you are like the millions of people without health insurance (like me :stoned the cost of those prescriptions, which you will NOT even be taking, will be an added strain on your self-admitted tight budget. You won't even need to compare prices... you will have to combine both (unless you got that :greenthumb

But I can't stress enough... Be honest with your doctor. They can NOT treat you effectively if you do not lay it all down. It WILL affect how they design a plan to get you better. As much as I recognize the health benefits and symptom relief of Cannabis it is by NO means a cure to anything that we know of (except maybe a "case of the Mondays" :jointsmile

P.S. If this thread borders the line regarding site rules, I apologize for contributing. I understand that it is frowned upon to respond to threads in violation... but I am not sure about conversations on THC based pharmeceuticals. Just trying to help.

You sound close to your Doctor a friend of mine has MS shes all twisted up anyway she
had Marinol presribed from her Doctor
they had to send away for it [took a week to get it]


and she was treated very rudely by the Pharmy guy

she loaned me one MARINOL for menstral cramps and it was just like smokin a phatty

Yeah I would say honesty is the best policy with your doctors. My doctors know I smoke and they never really seemed to care much. Especially when I stress the fact that I don't drink or do anything else.

The quote from Metal is correct in my own findings, "it will not be a shock to a doctor that you found Cannabis to relieve symptoms of your ailment". On the list of bad things to do this seems to be near the bottom.
