I ask because of this.

My most recent grow , finished up wonderfully, but the buds didnt have a thick trichome covering like a lot that you see.

When the plants were growing, they really had low scent, at least from my perceptions , could have just been good ventalation who knows, but they really didnt STANK

Cured bud looks quite unassuming really, lots of hairs, thin later of trics over it all, but you crack it open now , and FUCK ME it just STINKS ! Like LEAMON FUEL CRAZY STINK MAN !

Honestly it just reaks.

So I began to think about the role that terpenes play in our beloved plant. I ve read a few studies by fellow smokers that really show this smelly oily shit in our weed has a HUGE outcome on the intensity and the high we feel !

That these Un-assuming STANKY little indica buds really do a number on you :stoned:

Next to that , I smoke some shit that looks like its been dipped in sugar its so caked with trics, ...but smells like ASS-HAY...gets you stoned yes, ...but not like the stink....more like your 'regular every day stone'.

Well I just read the thread at that other site, interesting stuff! As one of the quoted articles talked about, the terpenoids are indeed an important factor in use with cannabinoids... more than just the high/stone feeling, they help do several good things for the body (even to protect against some slightly negative effects of THC - "cholinergic deficits in the hippocampus" whatever that means!).

I've smoked herb that doesn't smell much but when you crack it, it REEEEAKS, and its very oily. Turns out to be better stuff, plus the oil kinda cakes and turns into a hashish* type and you get more hits before its cashed.

All i know, I LOVE the smell of cannabis. I've been dry for months and whenever I pass a dead skunk on the road and get that smell, It brings back memories. Its kind of nice... Ty dead stunk, ty.

ghs has started putting terpen graphs of there strains on there web site..vvvvvv interesting
also theres a school of thought that says CWE washes away a lot terpens,thats why theres a resurgence in dry sifting
