Urine AND/OR BLOOD for pre-employment!!!
Man, I need some help.
I've finally got some confidence up on the urine tests after using Quick Fix a couple times. Unfortunately, my confidence in Quick Fix led me to feel invincible while negotiating for a new job. So, needless to say, I didn't really cut back much on my daily smoking.
Today, 2 weeks after the interview I got the offer letter. It's a substantial raise (25%) that I can't afford to lose. The offer packet contains the drug testing info and it says that the offer is contingent upon passing a URINE test, or a BLOOD test, or BOTH!!
So, I've got the urine under wraps with the Quick Fix, but I'm EXTREMELY worried about the blood test. The recruiter will call Monday and try to schedule it, I'm sure, so I'm going to have to try to buy a few days. It shouldn't be too hard since I'm still finishing out my other job and I live an hour away from where my new job will be. I'm hoping that I can push the test back to my first day of employment, but who knows?
HERE'S MY QUESTION: How long will THC and/or THC metabolites be detected in a blood test for a daily smoker (1-2 times, more on weekends)???
I've seen mixed responses on this. The consensus seems to be on this board that within about 3 days or so you'll be clean and pass. However, I see conflicting information on Erowid. Erowid is a respectable source and it says 2 WEEKS!!! Also, on wikipedia (not as respectable) it says 12 days. I've seen various other stuff that says up to 30 days. I quit yesterday, so I need to know how long I have to put off the test. I start in 19 days. I'm going to try to push my test off for 2 weeks and start exercising like a fiend.
Can someone please put my mind at ease on this THC blood detection time issue!?!
Peace,

3 or 4 days on the blood is the norm. Some of erowids info is very outdated. I doubt they'll do the blood test. Urine test is the norm and the cheapest.

Don't understand why they would do a blood test, if killerweed said its only 3-4 days, and more expensive. Maybe blood tests show up other drugs better.

Blood is normally drawn to check for diseases rather than drugs of abuse. Current testing methodologies only detect THC metabolites in the blood for 72 hours max. Blood testing for drug use is also not cheap. Thats why urine is tested for drug use over blood.

Yes, it's not the norm, but it does happen. I've seen a few people on other forums that mentioned having blood AND urine tested for a pre-employment screen. Who knows why? Maybe they want to try to determine if one is cheating on urine...or maybe they want to know if you smoked very recently....I have no idea.
All I know is that the paperwork I received in my offer said that I would have a urine drug screen, a blood drug screen, or both. If it was just urine I wouldn't even have batted an eye as I've passed a couple now with Quick Fix and I've got it down to enough of a science that I don't get too nervous anymore.
Just really nervous about this job because it's a 25% raise (unbelievable I know, but true)!Brown-eyed women and red grenadine...

Oh yeah, also I was thinking that maybe a company would do it as an internal quality control or just to get some insight into how many people try to cheat when they turn up with clean piss and dirty blood.....

Surprising that they would waste that kind of money on both tests. Sounds like the owner maybe a bit of a fanatic. I'd watch my ass.
