Uk smokers; Settle an argument

Do you get strains of weed ie.White Widow, Cali. Orange etc or just regular weed? Me and a friend were pondering this (while having a smoke) as it seems a really big thing in the US and Canada to know exactly what breed you're smoking/buying and I envy this a bit. Could possibly be the contacts I have for buying stuff, but anyway answers on a postcard!

Hey Andrew,

I think in the UK a lot of the dealers won't know what strain it is. If they're really into weed and only deal in good stuff then they'll probably know the strain, but a lot of them are just in it for the money and couldn't care less what they're selling,

Strains are blown up to be something they aren't , it's a lot like the marketing of any product the name can be too important.We are all familiar with the "BRAND" mentality , you know the kind that have to buy Nike or Gucci.
