** Will this work?? Come quick, order on the way! **
I'm a total noob but here is what I have, 36?x20?x64? grow tent with an htg 250w hps with cool tube hood. I have one 6" high output fan for intake into the tent, One 4" inline fan sucking air through the cool tube and one 4" inline for overall exhaust and both of these t'd into a filter. I run between 76 and 79 degrees all day long with the room temp at 69-70 degrees. I have seen excellerated growth since switching to hps and the exhaust upgrade as compared to my 2ft 6 lamp 3veg and 3 growth bulbs and just the 4" inline fans. I hope this helps.

So my 2 fans won't cut it? I'd hate to spend more money if mine will work. Or do i only need 1 fan?

no no. i think your 250 cfm fan would work fine for probably 2 hoods ( but no filter,) or 1 hood and 1 filter. then you could just use a smaller inline fan (like a muffin/cpu fan) or even a passive intake (as long as you have negative air pressure). a passive intake is with no fan, just a big hole to draw in air.

Oh ok!! but i've already ordered 2x of those fans, so i waisted my money on 1? I absolutely can't use both of those fans for in/out/cooltube, even if some smell does escape? Thanks for the help Joe, i really am grateful! :rastasmoke:

honestly, with my 400 watt (in a 2x5x5 closet) i can get away with using a 4" 170 cfm fan for ventilating my hood, and it creates enough air exchange to keep the plants happy. i think you'll be fine with one. and if you find that you dont need the other fan, you can always expand (get more lights, bigger space,) or return it. itll work out. btw, where do you order your fans from? i usually get everything from hydroponics.net

your 250 cfm fan should be more than enough (a good thing when cooling lights.)
i use a 4" 100 cfm fan(s) for intake. theyre pretty weak but i notice my temps go down.

Unless your intake and exhaust fans are EXACTLY matched, and you have a cOMPELLING reason to run both- whic you don't have- Waste of $$$$.
You're running a 250 in a very small space. One good quality 200+cfm fan is all you should need, with an air coolable hood and a passive intake.
