this plant is about 2 meters tall at a little more than 3 months old. my buddy planted her indoors, grew her under a compact flurorescent light under 18:6 light until she was a little less than a foot tall, then he transplanted her about a month in. to the soil he added about 40 lbs of generic organic top soil, about 10 of 'moisture control' bag soil, and 2 or 3 pounds of a funky mix of peat and sphagnum moss, bone and blood meal, worm castings, composted cow and chicken manure, vermiculite, a bit of lime, a bit of wood ash, some 7-10-5 organic fertilizer, and for good measure, a dusting of some 17-23-6 commercial urea-derived fertilizer for garden vegetables. she gets watered pretty regularly with water from a nearby stagnant pond (reasonably clear, not nasty).

he dug in about 3 feet, then mixed that up pretty thoroughly with the on-site soil. the plant was transplanted to the site with 2 others, one of which was transplanted roughly to another site and became a hermaphrodite, and the other of which turned to a male which was transplanted elsewhere and is doing fine.

now this one is having a problem in which the fan leaves get red speckles and veins, then the tips yellow, curl under, and the leaves die.

what is going on, guys? we're living at about 35 degrees of latitude here if that helps at all for a frame of reference.
