A letter I sent to the Speaker of the House.

I just emailed this to Nancy Pelosi. I'm tired of people saying, "you want democracy and complain about the way things are but do you tell them how you feel." So I told her how I feel, how is it for a first attempt. I doubt she ever even reads it, but I'll be damned if anyone can use that line against me again.

What do y'all think for a first attempt?

    Comrade Pelosi,

Who exactly do you represent? It certainly doesn??t appear the American
populace is your primary concern. I notice from a quick visit to your website
you have the time and energy to author bills in regards to, let??s face it,
rather unimportant matters when compared to America??s economic decline and
Energy problems. You propose half-witted ideas of ways to fix the problem yet
ignore the overwhelming voice of the American people screaming, ??Drill!?

I am aware there is currently an ??All of the Above? bill being proposed. It
supports, not only more drilling, but the exploration of alternative fuels as
well. Don??t get me wrong, I expect you to block a vote on this bill or lead a
charge against it, which would ultimately provide me with a solid answer to my
opening question. However, I implore you to set your ego aside and do what is
actually best for the American public. In case you haven??t caught on yet:
drill in ANWAR (the small section that is essentially a wasteland), consider
nuclear power, research ethanol, clean coal technology, and any other plausible
    alternative.

I know you will have some delusional reasons that lead you to believe this bill
must be stopped. I must urge however, you let logical thought play some, if only
small role in your stance on this bill.

    Heil Comrade Pelosi,

    *****
Go ahead, start defending the Speaker... and telling me that was awful and idiotic.

Eh... good points all, but the hostile tone of your letter will have whoever reads it dismiss it offhand.

It doesn't matter, at the first glimpse of an intelligent opposing view they would toss it anyway. I enjoy being condescending towards people I don't respect. Considering I didn't expect an outcome with a civil email, I figured I may as well entertain myself while typing it.

Believe it or not, they read that stuff. That's why I think it's important to try and take the high road, but that's just me. I did PR work for far too long, I think!

Good letter. And I like your guts in wanting to entertain yourself while you were at it! I stand to the left of center, but frankly I think Pelosi is dumb as a stump.

Here's what I'd have added to the bottom of it instead of the "heil" reference:

Who the heck did your face lift and blepheroplasty and why the heck did you let him pull you so tight??? Maybe you'd be smarter if you could close your eyes at night and sleep!!

(Mean, but I couldn't resist. It's the question, along with "How did you, of all people, come to be the most powerful woman legislator in the land?", that I always find myself wanting to ask when I see her!!)

It won't be taken seriously with the sarcastic tone.

And when you ask, "Who exactly do you represent?" The answer would be Congressional District 8 (The Fightin' Eighth!), where her opposition to offshore drilling is very popular. By bringing in her constituency, who are pretty much behind her on this, you weaken your argument. It probably would have been more effective to leave that out.

Personally I disagree with you about the drilling, and I'm pretty sure the letter won't be that effective with Pelosi, but I do aplaud your effort to be involved and make your opinion heard. Try writing to your own representative and senators --- they tend to listen more than congressional leaders who are not in you district.

Good on you for the effort.

Send a picture of your ass and a tube of red lipstick.

Then she'll HAVE to take you seriously.

how you said explore nuclear options, it makes sense because it's actually pretty safe compared to popular belief and it can produce a hell of a lot of power. the people that say "well look at the pollution it puts out" always get me because all thats coming from (can't think of the damn word) is steam from all the water cooling everything.

Just remember that Pelosi's stance on drilling is the same as Obama's. Now if you mix the two, you better stock hard in K.Y. because you'll be taking it hard at the pump.

    Have a good one!:s4:

I write to my congressman about 3 times a week. I never get a response so dont expect one. They know they will not be held accountable for anything and the majoraty of Americans are clueless when it comes to what is really going on in America.

I do agree we need to drill more but the real problem right now is the dollar. The legislation passed yesterday will weaken the dollar even more. Not only did they bailout the rich bankers again by agreeing to take up to 300 billion of the loans they cant move anywhere else but they also raised the national debt to 800 million and now all CC transactions will be sent to the IRS as well. RP did a video yesterday and I will post that. Anyway, keep an eye on the dollar, that is the real cause of our pain here in the US. Of course that is all attributable to the overspending in congress and its obvious this just isnt going to stop. By next year we will start to see double digit inflation and possibly as high as 20%. This is just getting started and the fed has no way out.
