    Wasted Time...

I found that transplanting from a quart, to a gallon and so forth was a waste of money and time. Start urself out with atleast 3-5 gallon bucket. The more space u have for your roots to grow the faster ur plants will flourish.

Nothing like running out of space for your roots to grow. Then looking at the plant an wondering why ur plant hasnt done anything in 2weeks.

i always wait till my plants to get a little rootbound before transplanting to a bigger size.

why do you say your transplanting was a waste of time and money? didnt do it right?

Well, thank goodness it's cheaper to waste nutes and lumens on empty soil, eh? Any ph or salt build-up issues yet?

Laziness always has it's drawbacks. I find it much easier doing it the right way, but that's just me, lol.

If you do it right, re-potting frequently produces healthier plants. But what do I know? lol
You should NOT start a tiny plant in a huge pot. The roots will just keep growing and growing, and you'll finish root-bound anyway.

never knew, that growing with small plants would end you up with rootbound. Well, under flo's it seemed more pratical to use a bigger size pot than a smaller one, cuz my plants took off like weeds when I had space for the roots 2 grow vs not having enough, and sitting their and watching my plant do nothing for say a while, before I noticed it was rootbound... blame my brain, not my fault

I forgot to add... in growing, there is no such thing as time that is truly wasted, as long as you learn something new from wasting it! Re-potting on a schedule is actually worth the time you put into it, very very well worth it!

I agree, rootbound should be a mood option. It's decriptive of how I've been feeling lately

It's uncanny how much you look like my buddy, who is a golfer and unapologetic pothead lol!

I have always started my seeds in the same large pot I plan on finishing them in ... every time you transplant, your plant 'stalls', loses a couple days of growth ... but, that's just my way of doing things, not necessarily the 'correct' way ...

ive tried both... planting them in a big pot from seed to finish and transplanting from small to big.

Even though it is kind of a pain in the ass, I can see now how transplanting your plant is better for your plant in the long run. It tends to slow down a bit after the transplant but it makes up for it afterwards, especially if you LST. =)

From now on, I transplant at least 3 times and end up with nice sized plants...
