US soldiers fire on a freed journalist who was on her way home to Italy. The Italian government has been supporting the US since the beginning, despite the opposition of the population, and look what it gets them.

    Howdy FLESH,

The soldiers did their duty..it was the stupid,Italian driver, who ignored multiple methods of warning, including warning shots fired in front of the car,as it approached..it was the equivalent of driving high speed into a huge, red firetruck, parked sideways across the road, with lights and sirens blazing..and still the idiot driver refused to stop.

Most civilians, don't have any business crying foul, when they refuse to leave a war-zone,or when they ignore well-known security procedures at check-points.

    Have a good one....Torog

    Howdy Nullific,

I did not mean to imply that Italians are stupid..I was simply pointing out-that it was the fault of the Italians, that they were fired upon.

I apologize to any of those whom are Italian..and I won't even take offense,at being called a redneck or a bastard.

    Howdy moomoo,

I do appreciate Italy's contribution..they have lost lives as well, and it's a tradgedy, that anyone had to be hurt or killed, because it could have been prevented..we may never know-why the driver ignored flashing lights, warning sirens, signs, warning shots fired in front of the car, soldiers waving their hands frantically, ignoring established and well-known protocols for approaching check-points in a war-zone,amplified voice warnings..etc..a real shame-that all those warnings..were not enough. Maybe if our soldiers had lain down in the road..the driver would have at least slowed down.

Once again,I apologize if I have offended anyone with Italian blood.

What I find funny is that Italy was one of the US's last allies in western Europe. It looks like the prime minister is going to have to cave in to public opinion and pull out of Iraq...

It's incredible how the American soldiers lack self control. You wanna hear about a hero? The Italian secret service agent single handedly got the woman from her captors, and he died while shielding her from American bullets with his own body. That's a hero.

I know and have served with plenty of troops that are currently over there. I don't know one person who enjoys killing or kills to feel like a man, but I know plenty who have shot people when they have felt that there was a serious threat. War sucks, but it is about survival. Nomorenarcs, I personally don't agree with this war at all, but your view seems to be fueled more by your anti-american opinion than anything else.
