to top or or not to top?

I am only sort of familiar with this technique (topping) and I ask for insight. I have a clone thats about 2 feet in height and I fimmed it early in veg and its still veggin at 20 light 4 dark. I was lucky enough for it to split into two tops each equal height and it split about 4 inches up the main stalk. As you might reckon both tops are fairly tall but are LST'ed. I was curious about topping and its effects on the plant. If I topped each top might it help boost the growth of all the nodes below the top while in veg? Also will the tops grow back at some point? If so, if I keep topping will it help the plant continue to push lower node growth? Lastly what are some of the effects this would have during flowering? I'm almost sure it has to be a mainly sativa dominant since it has narrow fan leaves and wants to keep reaching up, up, UP. Ok we now have pics set up thanks to some very special. I have an "aerial" view, a view of the split and the tops and just the overall view of the pretty girl. Hope this helps with advice folks. Enjoy and Happy growing!

if you top the plant you will get more growth on the lower half, and where you topped it insted of having 1 top you will have 2, if you top it again instead of 2 you will have 4 and so on.. but instead of gettin big buds you will get loads of smaller ones

Sorry, but wouldn't this be the FIM technique I've already used? I showed where it split in the third pic where I FIM'ed it. Sorry I'm just not that familiar with topping and I'm thinking about its uses during VEG.
