    haha... my first (solo*) grow

*as in i was pretty much an uncle to a friends WW, BB, & PPP lolimp:

now my little query is actually quite amusing! i already wrote this on my introduction post but figured i should come here instead...

so as it turns out the three i thought had a chance were a lost cause and to my surprise, i woke up to a seedling on my window sil yesterday morning, and another this morning! so they are now under 2 6500k cfl's and looking healthy.

now the pot is about 6 inches wide and the seedlings are both around an inch from each side (meaning they are about as far away from each other as possible). what should i do? i mean theres not much chance they'll both be female and i'm a bit scared to go digging!
so i've pondered over this for a while and i have a couple of ideas, the one i'm most interested in being: eventually start to train them away from each other until there is enough of a root system to transplant into a large 2-3 foot wide basin/box of some sort and continue to train (my grow area is around 4.5/5ft tall but plenty wide).

if anyone fancies helping me out with a wee tip or two or even pointing me in a different direction, my seedlings and i'd be really grateful:hippy:

    the things i'm wondering are;
*would training my first grow possibly be a bit too much to take on?* i'm fairly confidant - ssshhhh! lol
*how long do you think it would take for 2 seedlings to grow enough of a root base in a (roughly) 1.5 litre pot for an easy transplant?*
*should i throw that idea in the bin and try and dig/re-pot the younger seedling?* - don't like the sound of that!

thanks in advance all you loverly cannabis.commers!:computerlove1:

They'll always fight for rootspace, which is why it's important to have their own pots.
I'd wait till soil is semi-moist, then take a large spoon (soup spoon) and carefully scoop under one of the the seedlings and it's roots...and transplant to it's own container. Try to be careful of it's neighbor's roots.
Repeat as often as needed till each seedling has it's own pot. Be easy re-potting, but make sure all roots are in contact with the soil. (no air pockets)
The longer you wait, the more the roots will tangle. Some minor breakage isn't the end of the world, but have never lost a seedling to doing this. (you ought to see what I do to re-veg's and bonsai's, lol)

haha yeah i read through your bonsai thread the other day:weedpoke: very entertaining/interesting read!

cheers for your reply also. i'm pretty sure the two that popped won't be getting any other brothers or sisters but i'm guessing they should still be separated?

i think i'm still going to try my hand at lst... i'm guessing the seeds probably came from some 7 foot commercial giants that i definitely won't have room for. plus i'm not going to put all of my hopes and dreams into this grow... i've got a bit of a ghetto set up so i'll see how things go and eventually buy some nice seeds and better equipment. i know i'm going to have fun during my learning curve anyway... learning is up there with mastering, fun-wise in any hobby:rastasmoke:

cheers for the help... i'll post an update in a couple of days or so

couple of days... 10 months... meh

recently it ocurred to me that i hadn't ventured back here to the first weed forum i ever joined so i thought i'd come back and say thanks to rusty for the friendly advice while i was still 100% noob. well, i did the noobish thing and thought i knew better... left the two plants in the same container and i'm sure if they wern't both males it would have went horribly wrong by other means.

anyway, i did eventually expand on my set-up and spent a bit on seeds and i thought i'd show a pic or two of what i've been getting up to...

pic 1 is as far as those bag seed got before showing off their balls. frustrating as it was, looking back it was a bit of a relief!

pic 2: 3 weeks into my second grow, greenhouse feminised cheese. vegged for 6 weeks and flowered for 10 till she looked like pic 3!

pic 4: it's scary how much those buds shrink during the drying process

pic 5: third grow... befriended a breeder and got to test grow a new strain of his, sweet purple x white satin aka purple satin. here's the purple pheno.

pic 1 here is a purple satin bud. (no image editing, it really was that purple!)

half way through the purple grow i started some autos in small pots because i was bored lol they ended up being quite nice

pic 2 lowlife ak47xlowryder i/b by another online friend.

pic 3 lesser favourite lowlife white russianxlowryder

pic 4 my fav auto white russian (appologies if the sign is against the rules here, i'll delete the pic if neccesery)

pic 5 a white russian cola

anyway, i thought i'd share these pics to show anyone just starting out, that with a little effort at the beginning, you'll be growing tasty buds in no time. once the first grow is out of the way and you find your confidence, as they say around here... it's a piece of piss

thanks for looking. right now i'm taking care of three mothers, soon to be decimated for my outdoor guerilla adventure, they are barney's LSD & amnesia lemon and g13 labs durban poison. along with mazar-i-sharif, my own purple satin seeds and a mates new cross 'blue-shark' (og blueberry x gh great white shark) wish me luck!
