Help me pick some Seeds for aero...

id like some input on some common strains...

ill be using one of those setups with the 3inch net pots in the pvc tubes or gutters with the spray valves, aero.

ill be vegging under 4 t8's and flowering under a 400 hps and 4 t8s. no co2. i use gh 3 part.

i plan on flowering when they are 1.5 feet tall, ill probably lay a screen down for flowering but i dont mind if they get on the bigger side, thats actualy what i want.

i have the choice of super silver haze, white widow, or himalayan gold.

iv grown super silver haze before and i was impressed with its size and smell/smoke but not the color or long ass flowering time and the yield of the widow should be higher although both strains are good yielders.

white widow seems like the obvious choice for yield and bag appeal, what is your opinion on white widow in an aero setup with no co2 under a 400?

never heard anything about himalayan gold but willing to try if someone has seen it perform.

i also want to grow sour diesel and nyc diesel, has anyone grown both? how do they yield and how do they differ aside from the "sour" part?

also want to grow kali mist and g13. g13 was the strongest high and stinkiest smell i have ever experienced.

I don't want to rain on your parade but I have never yet seen a seed-to-harvest aero grow. Flowering at 1.5 feet means finishing at 3 feet, and each plant will have a huge root mass by then- look at Weedhound's old logs to see what happens when your root ball becomes too large for a hydroponic feed/water delivery system to penetrate. It ain't pretty. Also, a 400w light isn't going to give you the penetration you need for 3 foot plants- you will HAVE to screen them, but they will be so large that they will crowd each other. The aero systems I'm familiar with have spacing of 8-12 inches between sites. Bent over, a 1.5 foot plant will cover the next 2 sites.

Start your seeds in another system, or in soil (that would be my choice). Sex them and flower clones when the clones are just double the size they were when cut from the donor.

IMVHO aeroponics is the worst-suited type of system to grow large plants.

oh these wont be grown from seed i just need ideas for mother plants. seeds will be grown in bubble buckets for cuttings.

and i wont be buying a comercial setup i can build my own, its like 1/4 the price. i can space it any way i want and i can use the big tubes or gutters if thats what you sugest.

iv grown two in soil and im just about to flower my first hydro grow.

two bagseed and three cuttings, two are mandella white satin and one is powerplant haze.

i have them in those 8in plastic pots you get at home depot with the snap on drip trays, i pulled off the trays and drilled a bunch of holes in them and them filled them with hydroton and set a drip on them for the first couple weeks after the clones rooted and now i put them in DWC, a 18 gallon tub with five holes cut in the lid to slide the pots into.

the two bagseed look AMAZING. one of each phenotype too, one squatty and one lanky. each already around a foot tall. still got two more weeks of veg (gotta get a lot from them)

im actualy going to go back to drip because 18 gallons is a bit much for just five plants that are going to be flowered in a 2X4 clothing tent screened. (i have a 4x4 grow tent for bigger stuff, might bust it out if they take off) the drip doesnt require me to waste as many nutes and my plants were loving the drip. dripped for 15 mins every 4 hours. im just going to only put like 5 gallons in the 18 gallong tub and throw a pump in it and have it drip from the top.

so let me just come out and ask you this... if i went with home made 2 gallon bubble buckets instead how many would i need to totaly fill my 4X4 tent with white widow? what is a reasonable expectation growing a higher yeilding strain like widow under a 400 and 4 t8's with no co2 in dwc?

as far as the brightness of the 400 i am with you, i put the t8's on the side to sorta try to make up for it. i need a 600 i know. what would i yield with one of those babies?

You've got bubble buckets. Phew. Good!
2 gallon bubble buckets are still not going to allow a ton of veg time; have you considered a larger bucket size, or bubbletubs that have ~ 6 sites apiece?
Plan to space your clones to be flowered at about 6-12"- 6 with no veg time and 12 with 2 weeks or so. That's a matter of math then; measure the room and see what you come up with.

Yield in a properly set up system is going to approximate .5 grams per watt of HID (flouros aren't the same; dont count them) during flower per month the plant spends in flower. A properly set up sysatem maintains a continuous canopy as much as possible.

yeh i hvae considered the 3 gallon tubs but its going to look mighty fishy seeing me lug 16 three gallon tubs up to my apartment. i have security at my building and although i smoke with them, they dont need to know anything they shouldnt. plus the 3 gallon construction tubs are probably way more expensive than a 2 gallon sand pale at the dollar store with a lid. i spray bomb the whole thing flat black multiple times then cut a 3" hole in the top for the net pot. trying to keep the whole mess super cheap, hence the comming switch back to drip.

after im done i plan on doing a complete how-to thread for making a complete 2X4 hydro tent system for less than 100 bucks minus HID using those closet tents.

also should mention i have free power untill this winter, but then ill be paying 34 cents per killowatt hour bcause i live in that really expensive american city... you know the one... the only one where there is no dollar menu at mcdonalds fuck you; rapant municipal corruption!
