US sets nuclear deadline for Iran
The closest I can recall was Reagan's Secretary of the Interior James Watt who didn't think protecting the environment was a very good idea because Jesus would be coming back soon to rapture us all up to heaven and it would be a waste to leave any resources untapped before we left the planet.

But mostly you are right. Most leaders do not base thier policies on prophesies.
