The problem is, in the absence of light, most plants just get really tall and spindly with weak stems. Kind of like when potatoes sprout and send out those long white shoots. The plants would still need a minimal amount of light to keep the stems from thinking they're underground. LEDs might even work.

And of course, I have no idea how you could supply cannabis with chemical energy directly, short of genetically engineering it.
