It most certainly will! If you just did it recently, you should be seeing improvements soon, but 6-7 weeks is quite a while to be sitting in the same soil, especially outdoors, exposed to rainfall, which is often acidic and uses up the lime inthe soil. You should consider upgrading to a larger home soon. If you have a way to check the pH of the runoff, do it and post up the numbers- I'll bet they are lower than you'd like to be seeing.
