medical marijuana co-op in rhode island

here in ri we are lobbying for a medical marijuana co-op for the first time in this state and the vote will not be heard until 2009. My question is to any patiens/caregiver's out there; it is very hard in this state to find seeds, clones, etc.. my caregiver wanted to sell me clones at $100 a pop and he got his license because of me! If there are any patients/caregivers that are interested in discussing a co-op where we can ALL benefit (and not just careivers robbing their patients) I'd love to know about it.

I hear you loud and clear, i am not an medical marijuana patient or care giver but i am an avid user of marijuana to help me get through the day. i am of the opinion that the way to go is to order your own shit and grow it yourself , that is what i do , no way i am gonna let some one rape me price wise at the rate of 100 duckkets a clone shame on your care giver!!! the point is until they actually regulate it or create a co-op that make sense(no pun intended) they have the upper hand. i reside in RI i am a convicted felon which makes me ineligible to help out or be a care giver but if i ever had extra clones and we had a co-op i would donate them to needy patients, i wish there was a way that i could open my own co-op but until they recognise that the most experienced growers available in ri are convicts who have been doing this shit for years i have over 30 to 40 different strains and cross's that i have attained over the years nyc desile x nyc haze(very strong medicine) screaming buddah (a colaboration by DNA and depot )just to name a few, tom hill's pine tar kush. and many many more its only right that we(growers) should do what we can to help de-criminalize marijuana so that we can finally medicate in peace without scrutiny or reprocussions in the privacy of our own homes but mentalities like that of your caregiver is what is keeping us back from getting it done. very sad indeed my friend if you want to get rid of your care giver , have the confidence to grow it 4 yourself and if you need help setting up and monitoring your meds i will help you out personally regaurdless of what ever risk are involved for me. thats how i roll!!!!!

My friends and I were talking about doing a Caregiver and patient councils. So the patients would have a caregiver counsil and would tell them what kind of bud and how much they wanted. The caregivers would grow it and sell it at a resonable price that is decided by both groups.

im not exactly sure what a caregiver is in the US but in canada people who are unable to grow can get someone they know to get a license and grow for them.. is this what a caregiver is because if thats the case im sure there is a way you can cancel their caregiver status for helping you and become your own caregiver.. i mean shit a clone costs like maybe 1$ to produce what an asshole

Hi, I'm a RI Caregiver volunteer and that is total BS !!! He knew his days of caregiving for you were nearing an end as you were getting closer to being self-sufficient. That is my goal as a caregiver; to make the patients self-sufficient and then move on !!!

    Peace,
    Bill

"My job as a volunteer caregiver is to assist patients to become self-sufficient. I assist in creating a growspace (whether a closet or stealth dresser, or a non-toxic growtent) in their residence (I live in Massachusetts about 5 miles over the border of RI) utilizing LED lighting (cost-effective for self-sufficiency)90 watts with maybe some cfls on the sides. I make self-watering Earthboxes (I'm in the process of adding aquarium earthstones to the reservoirs attached out side to a 20 dollar aquarium air pump to allow the root extra air) using 3 - 5 gallon buckets and utilizing primo soil (1 expense that can't be omitted) like fox farm. I hope to utilize seeds / clones that are almost mistake-free to begin with. I check their water supply for PH and have them leave 4-5 open 1 gallon containers full of their water left out at room temp for days before usage adjusted for PH (leave them some up/down solution and a "dripper" to add. Then I check in on them periodically in person and continually via email (if they have a digital camera, then pix help)"

When someone responds to my posts, I get a mssg. I hope this gets to you.

imho, it appears that with the laws being newly legalized that there are still alot of questions about what can and can not be done and who can do it.
People should consult heir local patient advocacy group because those people are a wealth of info., and they will help you avoid any trauma or drama.

it also seems that, as anywhere where something is prohibited - some recreational users think they can produce for mmj patients and get a "get out of jail free" card. this is the kind of mentality that is forcing otherwise lawabiding citizens to be marginalized. In my experience, in other places where this innocuous plant is decriminalized the people are alot less concerned about what they can get from someone else, and alot more open to being helpful - just because helping someone else regain some sort of life of normalcy is rewarding. like baking a loaf of bread for your neighbour...
    yes, i was a hippy-child in a former life...
