    Lil' Help With Strains?

All very solid choices. The Kalichakra is crazy spicy and makes me giggle uncontrollably, and my 'guy', who is a wicked enthusiast, picked it out as the best-smelling (in his opinion) thing I've brought him yet to try. You're in for a treat.

    Sounds fantastic.

I'm going to be so damned torn when it comes to deciding what to go with for my next grow. I'm going to get it started as soon as my current Top44 grow harvests. Normally I wait until I'm a couple months away from running out of herb before I start a new grow, but that backfired on me this time.

I popped 5 Sourberry beans on June 9th-actually put the sprouts in the flood table on the 9th, so I started them cracking on the 7th. Anyway, a couple weeks of veg later and I was discovering that I'd seriously miscalculated my remaining stash and would be running out in less than a month, no matter how I stretched it, so I switched to 12/12 to hurry the harvest. I knew I wouldn't get as large a yield, but I figured it would be worth it as there were five plants and at least three were bound be female...or so I figured.

Fast-forward a week and a half and I'm possitive that I've got 5, :wtf: that's F-I-V-E, swinging dicks in my flood table. That was a first for me. I usually have really good luck, having never lost more than 1/3 of a vegged crop to the dreaded photosythetic testis. It seemed it was time for Karma to ballance itself, so I chopped the entire, useless crop and started more beans cracking.

I went with the Top44 that I already had, aquired from Gypsy Nirvana as well I might add, in hopes of having a halfway decent crop in just two months. Having started this grow on the 9th of July and running 24/0, I'll be switching to 12/12 on or about the 23rd, same as last time. All I can do is hope for the best, eh?

Anyhoo, my point is that I wouldn't normally start a new grow right after finishing one, but I'd like to get a head this time so this won't happen again and hopfully I'll actually be able to cure some so it tastes like something other than skunk-pissed grass. If I can figure out how that is.

So, I guess the question of the day would be, which of these new strains should I grow first?

Oh, and here's an update on the order I placed yesterday.

    Say, stink.

How do you think the Kailchakra and Bubblegum would fair in the same flood tray? If you think that's a bad idea because they need different stregth nutes than one another I could always use the black, DWC buckest I have. I'd just need some new airstones.

Bubblegum is one I have not yet run. You'd want to look up grow reports on both and try to determine whether they like feedings of a similar strength. If you like running multiple strains at once, look into either soil or independent DWC buckets, and take COPIOUS notes on EC levels and plant health for all.

Ok, don't know if anyone cares, but I said I'd try to remember to update this whehn the beans arrived.

I got an email Monday morning, which would be Monday afternoon UK time, informing me that they'd been posted and they arrived Thursday morning.

I think that's pretty fucking amazing, people. They mail something to me Monday afternoon GMTfrom the UK and it arrives three days later. I don't know why people complain about the world's postal service.

Anyway, all the little darlings are in great shape. Judging by the packaging, it would have taken a steemroller to crush any of them. I got 10, fat and healthy looking Nirvana K2s, 11 plump and happy looking Serious Bubblegums, 10 firm and nicely striped Mandal Kalichakras and 17 intsy, wintsy Mr. Nice Early Queens.

I have to say at this point that I'm amazed at how incredibly miniscule the Early Queen beans are. Sincerely, the largest of them is half the size of your average seed from other strains and the smallest would be like 1/3 or even 1/4 the size of average. Also, they shed like made at the least touch. I know that, "size doesn't matter," but I admit to being concerned.

I've chosen the 5 I thought looked least likely to pop and have begun trying to sprout them. My choices were based purely on them being even smaller or of a lighter color, that sort of thing. They all look healthy, they're just so freakin' tiny.

I'll let you know if they pop.

Lol! Next to the Kalichakra beans I'll bet they look even smaller. Kalis are the biggest fucking walnuts I've seen yet!

    Umm..yeah...notes...that's done with paper...right?

Seriously, I'm one of those horrifying, I'm sure, growers who mostly does it by the seat of the pants. I work hard to keep the ph levels in a good range and test for that all the time, but I don't much test the EC. I don't even think that's the kind of meter I have. I think mine is a ppm meter. I use it now and again when I'm adding to the res to see if it needs strengthening or thinning, but that's about it.

I've had good results so far, except for this last grow, the Top44, but that had nothing to do with feeding. I just got sick as a dog at the begining of the week and forgot to check on my babies for a couple days. They grew into the HID. Fried beyond hope.

That's OK though, because I've got my new seeds and am tring out the Early Queen, as I mentioned above.

I do like the idea of checking other's grow logs for nute strength preferences. Thanks for that idea. I will definitely do that. I'm going to look for an Early Queen grow log, too.

So, here's an update. My Sensi Seeds' Shiva Shanti 2 came in seperately either Friday or Saturday. In the package was 10 fat, healthy-looking and very pretty, I might add, beans.

With them was a little packet of 5 freebie Sam the Skunkman's Original Haze X Skunk #1.

    Breeder : Sam the Skunkman
    Flowering Time : 12 Weeks
    Seeds Per Pack : 10
    Price : $62.52

Original Haze is one of the most electric pure sativas from the 60s and 70s. With an unforgetable taste, the quiet slim buds produce incredible resin which made this plant a perfect candidate for cross breeding with a reliable plant such as skunk1. The combination makes for a fanastic energetic high. Altho this quality takes a bit longer its worth the wait.

    87.5 Sativa

That's a pretty good give-a-way, if you ask me, with a value of $31.26. Generous, by my estimation. Certainly better than a kick in the head, eh?

They're just as tiny as the Early Queens from Mr. Nice. I've never seen such small seeds.
