First you have to look at what his party stands for then what will get him possibly elected. His vote for FISA, change in stance on an Iraqi withdrawl, gun control, Israel, etc.... The dude is a joke for a candidate. He'd better get a strong V.P. or he's sunk!:thumbsup:

If you want to talk about a joke of a candidate, I find McCain much more funny. A man that endorses a 100 year iraq war, wants to drill our coasts (and even admits spills might happen, further polluting not only our world, but our actual nation too, lol) and only has time to mud sling. He "takes pride" in being a liberal repub, but when he needs to win his party over, he flip flops like a fish out of water (not saying Obama is much better, just pointing it out). He stages an appearance with Hybid cars, but his solution to high gas prices is to drill more. He claims to know how to win wars when his experience is limited to Vietnam (we lost that one, remember?).

As for McCain, he better get a good VP cause he is so old he might not survive his whole term (not really, but you seem to dislike punches being pulled for Obama, so I'm sure you are fine with me saying that )

There's no doubt about it-Obama will be a disaster for America and our allies,his promises of appeasement,apology and retreat,will only give the enemy time to re-group and launch new attacks against the Free World.

In talking about his plans to double the size of the Peace Corps and nearly quadruple the size of AmeriCorps and the size of the nation's military services, he made this rather shocking (and chilling) pledge: "We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded."

Without the whole original quote or the rest of what Obama was talking about, it's hard to say exactly what this snippet means, but I DO NOT read it as calling for a national police force! The Peace Corps and AmeriCorps are not police organizations! Ha ha! Haven't you ever heard of these organizations?

It sounds like to me Obama is saying that the real solutions to some of the national security problems we face are not MILITARY solutions. A lot of the extremism we face in the world is fueled by poverty and desperation, and orgainzations like the Peace Corps and AmeriCorps work to solve those kinds of problems. So I think the point Obama is making is that if we can promote the kind of problem solving that the Peace Corps and AmeriCorps do, then it will have national security benefits that the military cannot provide.

It's equally important to prevent people from becoming terrorists and extremists as it is to kill them after they become terrorists and extremists.

Actually these programs were taking a HUGE bump due to all the "free college" in Obama's plan. Next thing we'll need is a seperate government agency to make sure these people actually show up for service.

Politics can be intoxicating in a way and just like at the bar, some people shouldn't be there due to the "Lifesyles of the drunk and stupid" syndrome. I got a couple of friends and family that are hard core dems....we have our lil' debates but it's all in fun.

LOL....I think that Torog would make a fine V.P. That type of statement didn't work to well for Clinton did it? Seriously though, Torog seems to be an honest man with a good sense of right and wrong....he'd make a fine President; better than what's being offered from either side for sure!:thumbsup:
