Need Advice on how to keep plants short

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could give me advice on my grow. Right now I am growing about nine plants on the roof of my barn. the lighting is perfect and the plants are doing really well. My only problem is that I don't know how to keep them short. Preferably i would like to keep them at around 1 foot tall, but I don't know if that's possible. I've heard of topping off plants and tying them down but I dont know which method to use.

    you can look up LST

    I'm also looking into 12/12 from seed/clone
Keeps them short and thin they turn into 'poles' apparently...

also indicas tend to be shorter

topping them should be best but if buds not legal in your state & you have air traffic & fly overs i suggest getting those down.

IMO minimum height should be 1 ft AND minimum age should be 2 months(if from seed). :rastasmoke:

Prune or tie. I prefer to tie because I do not know how to prune and I do not like snipping because of shock. Start bending the main cola or stalk slowly but surely with an elastic band or a soft material and stake it to a steadfast area. Each day bend it some more. You want to start easy on them because bending them too much can cause them to suffer - loss of nutrients going through the flesh from being cut off and even splitting the flesh so take it easy. You can bend the branches that way too. Somebody on here is probably really prolific in pruning if you prefer that. Eventually the bend will be low and the light will hit those portions of the branch that are exposed and the buds will grow upwards from there.
