No reaction to bud?
Check out the herbal-based sweetener called Stevia. I have a little on hand in case I need to sweeten anything that won't jive with my brown sugar.
from wikipedia:
and btw, thanks for the links! I was having a hard time searching with google; kept finding the same thing over and over. With its extracts having up to 300 times the sweetness of sugar, stevia has garnered attention with the rise in demand for low-carbohydrate, low-sugar food alternatives. Stevia also has shown promise in medical research for treating such conditions as obesity and high blood pressure. Stevia has a negligible effect on blood glucose, even enhancing glucose tolerance; therefore, it is attractive as a natural sweetener to diabetics and others on carbohydrate-controlled diets.

In fact, it's the sweetener I use most. But the hubby HATES it, so for baking the muffins, I use splenda.
But he's beginning to wonder about it's health effects, so it may be phased out soon!
I buy one pound of stevia about once a year- I drink a lot of tea. Owl's Nest Plantation is the place with the best price- comes to less than $40 with S&H! Cheaper than the health food store!

#1. Make sure you are smoking from a bong. Most other methods are prone to mess-up if you don't have experience.
#2. Make sure he is doing it correctly, take a medium sized hit and make sure he holds it deep for 8 seconds.
Follow these 2 guidelines and smoke 2 bowls, and then see if he doesn't think he is high.
95% of the time, it works every time .

I wonder if by consuming cannabis twice a day or more for many years, if the body slows or stops its own natural endocannabinoid production... kinda like testosterone and steroids?

Any other reviews of stevia, post 'em! I am always looking for natural things to cook with, and Splenda is scary carcinogenic. Isn't it crazy how many American companies (almost all major fast food corps, Splenda, companies using trans-fats, etc) blatantly poison people everyday, with serious and sometimes fatal consequences, yet the natural and safe herbs remain taboo, with the most ignorant attempting to enact jokey prohibition laws. Some kinda irony...
