Can they use hair test for pre-employment?

Can they? the application says specifically urine drug test, breathalizer, also Credit history check WTF? never heard of that, but it is a management position.Also I thought strange NOTHING that is not specifically asked for. Do not attatch resume. WTF The plant manager gave me the app after the interview he called me at home to go back and get it, and have it filled out by Monday. I seriously believe that he is going to make me an offer and my fking luck it will hinge on passing a hair test and there is no way as much as I have smoked/vaped and eaten in the last 90 days that I will ever pass. Or is there? guess my immediate future is going tol contain some more reading.

They can take it from another part of your body if the length is too short.

If your application says urine test and breathalyzer then thats probably going to be what you get. Don't be surprised if they do a hair test on you, I would go prepared for everything. The hair test is beatable but your going to have to bleach and redye two times and use zydot. Do an advanced search on hair testing under the name Jerry G, hes the expert on this subject.

If the job requires hair test you can not get around that unless you strike a deal with the job but they obviously have the ultimate choice to make you do what ever test before employment.

Prospective employers can pretty much do what they want as precursors for pre-employment testing. The *ONLY* sure way to pass is don't smoke.

FWIW, these days its very common for employers to conduct pre-employment criminal background checks, financial histories/credit histories, drug testing of their choosing, and even check medical histories. Now a lot of companies will not hire tobacco users either. There are some that even specify certain physical attributes...grossly overweight etc., will disqualify you for certain jobs.

The only thing they can't ask you anymore is your ancestry/race.

I had heard a fof say that this company did piss testing but that was about 2 years ago. On the app which was last revised on 08/07 it says in these exact words "breath alcohol and /or urine drug and alcohol tests and to disclose the results thereof to xxxxxx and to any orginization desighnated by xxxxxx employing a MRO". xxxxx = company name. I am hoping that they would have revised it if hair test was going to be used. I got the piss test defeated by the fact that I now have over 30 days out, but willl still do a mild vits/gatoraide dilutuion just to be sure. It is going to suck big time If I can pass the piss test and get snagged by the hair test. I have done many subsin the 80's-until 2005, and many more dilutions back in the late 70's when I was on the personell reliability program (uncle sam) I just wanted to be natural clean on this one. I'll post the results, later this week. Anyways thanks all.
