So, the war was about getting more oil at cheaper prices which hasn't happened, or the government was trying to make oil tycoons richer by using more with their fighter jets and tanks...?

Or we viewed Iraq as a key territory to control in the Middle East in preparation for a war with Iran. That seems like a more logical deduction than a war for oil. But that's just me. My theory does seem to be gaining support though with the reports of Israel using U.S. air bases in Iraq and the sheer location of the country in relation to Iran and Israel.
